First of all, let me say welcome to our new members, and welcome back to our returning ones. We are all excited about this new year. Along with a new website, we also started these forums so you can keep in touch with other club members, post and watch funny links and give us feedback on the club meetings. First of all, if you haven't read the rules yet, please do. Also, it would be nice you just post here and say hi, maybe a little about yourself so we wont all be strangers at the first meeting. My name is Zack, and I'm the Treasurer. I'm a sophomore at Stern, and plan on majoring in Business Economics and Finance, and minoring in Computer Science. My favorite anime would probably be Code Geass. If I could, I would reduce my entire world to a computer screen. Hope to meet you all soon. First meeting is Thurday, Septemeber 24th at 8pm.

Hi, I'm Jeffrey, the president of the club. You can call me Jeff, Mo, whatever, I really don't care. I'm also a sophomore. I'm in CAS. No declared major.
Uh, my favorite type of anime is the slice of life genre.
Oh and btw, I work at NYU's recycling department, so if you ever have any recycling needs or questions, feel free to ask.

Hey dudes, I'm Chad your (handsome) VP for this semester. I'm a senior at Stern majoring in Marketing and minoring in Sociology and possibly Spanish.
I use the remaining bits of my soul that Stern hasn't yet crushed to pursue hobbies ranging from anime to travel to music, so I'm basically all over the place. My favorite anime would probably be FLCL, but Yu Yu Hakusho -was- friggin awesome when I was 12. I tend to like action series with good quality animation, but slices of life like Zetsubou Sensei are fine too.
I also have a plethora of lulzy stuff gathered over years of 4chan abuse that you'll be enjoying this semester. I promise that the majority of it is gold.

Wut is up people? My name is Luis and I will be both your secretary and webmaster for the next two semesters. I'm currently a "senior" at CAS majoring in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Computer Applications. In case you were wondering "are you from Polytech," I will now say no. I am part of the NYU-Stevens joint degree program (the engineering program before NYU brought Poly).
In case you need to recognize me at any point, I will most likely be the guy who comes to meetings at around 9 or 9:10pm for this semester(since I will be getting out of class at 9PM), usually wearing a Squall Lionheart's Griever necklace. I am a huge Haruhi Suzumiya fan. However, I am an addict with "Neon Genesis Evangelion." Otherwise, I love to watch the slice of life genre along with romance, comedy, and, sometimes, mystery. I still wouldn't mind watching action and other genres, from "Akira" and "Code Geass" to "Zetsubou Sensei" and "Welcome to the NHK". My gateway to the anime and manga world would have to be "Gatchaman" (also known as "Battle of the Planets" in the U.S... sorry for being old school... just wikipedia this anime for more info), "Samurai Deeper Kyo," and "Love Hina."
Other than anime and manga, I love to practice martial arts and play baseball. If you get an email about the Martial Arts club, most likely it would have came from me (I'm currently the President of that club).
Alrighty then. Since I will be updating our website constantly, feel free to send me or any of the E-Board members email about ways to improve it or even let us know that you are awesome with webpage design. After all, we all wanna have a good time in this club so why not express yourself.
Hope to see many of you on September 24th. Remember to keep checking the website for room changes, news, and anything that will peak your interest.
Adios!!

So I'm Mike, a sophomore in CAS, with no real major and no real life plans. Unfortunately, you guys have meetings on thursdays, and unless I switch classes, I have a class until 9:15 every night. However, I'm a forum whore and love anime, so I can roll with the posts and avatars instead of a small room in kimmel with a bunch of dudes. ;p All jokes aside, I came to a couple meetings last year, but never really got in the habit of showing regularly (a real hikkikomori up in this bitch)
I'm a terrible slice of lifer, I can watch other stuff but generally find it either too drawn out or too ridiculous. Lucky Star, Minimi-ke, Genshiken, Bartender, REC, stuff like that is my essential lifeforce (as far as anime goes), but I love any good series (emphasis: good), like Last Exile, Pumpkin Scissors, Cowboy, Tengen Toppa, etc, etc. I've seen a criminal amount of anime... lots I loved and more I regret even starting.
I also game, competitively, on the cevo circuit (currently taking a break, although I ran with Doctors and Double Penetration for a few months), used to help run TF2 servers (No Heroes, Tainted Nature, Double Penetration), still play tons of CS:S (Tainted Nature), and play way too many mmos on the side (only fallen earth atm, ex-WoWer).
I'm a fat asian kid with glasses and undeterminable asian features (also: beautiful hair), so if I drop by I'll definitely say hello and stuff.

Hey there! My name's Sara, and it's nice to meet you all! I'm a freshman in CAS, planning to major in Physics (yes, it's a suicide mission, I know). I love anime, but thanks to a stressful year I haven't gotten around to seeing many new series as of late, so I'm looking to this club to pump my brain with some quality Japanese animation.
I'm a cosplayer, when I have the time to make my costume, and am definitely looking forward to a convention. My favorite animes and mangas are Neon Gensis Evangelion, Lucky Star, Wedding Peach, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, Fruits Basket, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cardcaptor Sakura, X/1999 (dark, is it not?), Tokyo Mew Mew, G Gundam, Detective Conan, and Tenchi Muyo, just to name a few.
I'm pretty happy and optimistic, so if you need to find me, I'm the girl with short brown hair and ridiculously big smile. I'm not much of a gamer, other than RPGs (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, etc.) and horror games (Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, Resident Evil etc.). Its been a while since I've DDRed but if anyone willing to set up a game, I'll definitely go.
In other, more or less, related facts, I am a pocky fiend (I'll try any flavor once), I love J-Pop (including Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, and AKB48), and I do performances/dances (such as the Lucky Star dance, the ending of Haruhi Suzumiya dance, J-Pop dances) so if anyone interested in forming a sub group, let me know! Other than that...I can't wait for the first meeting! See you there!

@sara: Hey Sara nice to meet you through here. A physics major you say. That is not that bad. I'm guessing that you are taking Physics 1 this semester? Perhaps with David Hogg? All I say about the Hoggmister is that "he is DA man." I had physics with him and Henry Stroke. Still, welcome to the Physics world. lol.
As for the club, trust me when I say you will be amazed and love the new anime we will be showing. Of course, if you know of a few that you think the club will love, let any of the E-Board know. We are always looking to bring our members what they want to see and do.
Whoaness. You mentioned more than half the anime that I love. And I do mean LOVE. Which characters have you cos-played as? (*has fingers crossed, waiting for the any character of Lucky Star, any work from CLAMP, and Evangelion... ESPECIALLY Evangelion. lol.*) Although I will post this statement elsewhere on the forum, I'll still say it here: will you be going to the New York Anime Festival to Cos-Play and have fun?
DDR and RPG fan. Oh yes, NYU used to have a DDR club but they got disbanded (few members). Maybe we could create a DDR night or so, depending on what others say about this.
Alright, we are looking forward to meeting with you in our first meeting. Take care and see you in two weeks (I know its a long time but we will make it promising).

@ Mike: Nice to meet you through the forums Mike. Don't worry about the time you get out from class. Pretty much, I'm on the same page. I have an Engineering class from 6:20 to 9pm on the 5th floor of Silver... with NO breaks! Ahhhh!!! I feel like this: But its good that you are a forum whore. We will definitely be using this place and the website A LOT to try to connect with the members. TF2 server? How long have you been helping to run the TF2 server? Nonetheless, that sounds awesome man. Aight then, the E-Board and myself will be looking forward to meeting with you. See you on September 24th.

@luis, Yes, I do indeed have Proofessor Hogg for Physics I! He seems like a really cool guy, but the work so far is really, really hard. High School Physics taught me nothing T_T
Sadly, no. I've cosplayed as Sailor Mars and as Tomoe from Rurouni Kenshin. I make all my own costumes, and the plugs suits from Evangelion are damn hard to make, and I look bad in spandex(the latter is a bad reason but...OH WELL). I've always wanted to Lucky Star a try, or be one of the Dragons of Heaven (Though, with my short hair, I could pull off Sakura...). I'm considering going to the convention but my Sailor Mars costume is at home, and a little too big, and my Tomoe kimono got all muddy and bloody, so I have nothing to wear. But if I go (it's still tentative) I will definitely go to have fun! I heard you guys may be going in a group (which, believe me, I'm gonna need help finding my way around) so if I get my pass, I'll let you know for sure very soon.
So excited for the first meeting!

^^ Hey all. I'm Angeli - general lurker and (As Mike said above) forum whore. (I'm also rather familiar with proboards so if you need any web layout assistance I can help!) I'm also a dA addict and I have a Tegakie account if any of you are artistically inclined. Erm, let's see - I'm a freshman in the LSP program moving into CAS (eventually, I hope!) with a major in anthropology although I am hoping to double major in maybe erm... English? Or Writing? Whatever *IS SHOT*
As far as my anime experiences go? I am both proud and a bit shocked to admit that I've watched a lot of anime in my lifetime. I've loved it ever since I was a kid, and can fondly remember waking up at six in the morning for that daily dose of Sailor Moon which eventually moved on to Pokemon, then Digimon, and Monster Rancher was in there somewhere -- and then I found myself staying up until midnight to watch Adult Swim and who here still remembers that weird anime about the galaxy train or whatever? ;D All this anime has led to a profound impact on my art, which I find is both a blessing and a curse -- but the blessings sure outweigh my skewed sense of proportions and anatomy :'D (Actual art classes have fixed that minor problem!)
As for my personal taste in anime? (I prefer manga to be honest) I'm your shoujo girl, although I find myself watching slice-of-life and shonen (Or can it be dubbed as supernatural?) a lot and -- thanks to my brother and my cousins -- mecha has a great place in my heart, too. xDx Erm, if I must compile a list of some of my favorites (>8U BE WARNED FOR THE SPARKLY MAGICAL GIRLS AND THE LOL BISHOUNEN): Axis Powers Hetalia, Wolf's Rain, Fruits Basket, Utawarerumono, Ayakashi Japanese Horror Classic + the Mononoke series, Natsume Yuujinchou, Cowboy Bebop, Lucky Star, Mushishi (Just getting into this), the Tenchi Muyo! series, Fullmetal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Bubblegum Crisis, FLCL, Ghost in the Shell, Magic Knight Rayearth, Trigun, Gundam Wing, ahh this list can probably go on and on so I'll end it quickly! =3= TLDR; I watched a lot.
... And as far as video games go? I'm an RPG girl - Harvest Moon, Fire Emblem, FF, KH, Okami, the Zelda series, etc. I'll play an MMORPG if it's free but my general zeal and erm interest in them doesn't last for more than a month at most. xD;; And I love fighting games -- it may take me a bit to get comfortable with the controls but I can adapt to the controls. ;U I'm also rather fond of Brawl at the moment so if anyone is up for that? I'm game ;D
:'D I also play DDR if anyone is up to that too.
... ERM YEAH. You can pretty much identify me by my obnoxious use of emoticons and hyphens. ;3 I'll be the short Filipino chick with glasses if you see me sleeping studying in Bobst. Annnd that's about it!
Also, I find it amusing how everything is on Thursday, at Kimmel. *SOB* ;D But, just for you guys, I will definitely make it to the first meeting, definitely.

Hi Angeli. Nice to meet you virtually. I'm glad to see how much anime is involved in your life. Man, just you making a reference to Galaxy Express 999 pretty much made my day (good nostalgic memories running in my head... good times good times).
What are your favorite manga series? Also, you mentioned you love fighting games alongside DDR. Have you checked out Toys R Us yet or, even better, the Chinatown Videogame Arcade? Trust me, that IS a heaven for fighting game lovers. From old school DDR to modern games (street fighter 4 being one of theme), that would be your place to bring some of your friends and DDR/fight others any time of the week. I usually pass by either Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Wednesday (all depending on my schedule and if I have lots of stuff to do). Its a good place to check out.
Hmm, I'll probably won't be able to identify you in the library immediately. If I somehow do, I'll probably be wearing the Squall Lionheart Griever necklace. So if you see a man with a red bookbag and the FF8 necklace, you'll know who it is. lol.
Everything does take place on Thursday. That was how I felt when I was a freshmen back in the days. Nonetheless, hope to see and meet you IRL at the first meeting. Take care.

... xD There's a Toys R Us? Or are you talking about the giant Times Square one? Waaah - going after-school to an arcade would be amazing! xD If I knew how to navigate the subway/get to Chinatown apsdkapsod -- but I will definitely check it out now that you've mentioned it!
<3 Dude that's awesome (The necklace) - I take it FF8 is your favorite? ;3 I'll be on the lookout, so if you get a random wave or a random tap on the shoulder I'm not a stalker. Really.
>8U Poo on Thursday, but hey, at least it's not Weds! [Yes, I can't spell that day. I never was able to]

I prefer manga too. And when it comes to manga, nothing beats shojo beat. I only wish the pages in the magazine weren't so bright. It's difficult to read(and a bit embarassing). At least they left the volume manga in black and white.
