RPGs are just so natural to us, anyway... the adventure is what we love. .HACK and Scrapped Princess and such. If you say Inuyasha I'll slap you. THIS, including the Inuyasha comment. Although to be fair, Inuyasha is a pretty nice "introduction" to anime, I've had many friends who initially just watched Inuyasha move onto other (better) titles but that's just me.

Inyuasha is definitely a good starter anime for those unfamiliar to anime. However, it's a "starter" anime, much like getting your starter pokemon from professor oak, except instead of something cool like bulbasaur or mudkip, it's a rattata. And it never learns hyper fang, or evolves.

Probably this should explain my feelings on Inuyasha. Before watching Inuyasha but after watching EVA and other great 90s anime: After watching the FIRST 10 MINUTES of Inuyasha on a rainy Sunday night online: Expression that I make after hearing anything about Inuyasha from that point in my life: I think you all know MY feelings towards Inuyasha now. 'Nuff said.

lol. Well, I actually kinda like Inuyasha. I'm collecting the dvd's. I can understand people's dislike of the series though. Anyway, if you're an inuyasha fan, you should know that they're having a new series this fall that will finish the rest of the manga. For those of you that don't like Inuyasha, don't worry, we're not going to show it in the club.

YESSSHHH!! I will not see it during the club meeting. Although, I won't be in the meeting for the first 2 hours or so (I blame my engineering class for this). Thus you can show it if there is great demand for it within the first two hours of the meeting.

nozomi: Welcome to the NYU Club Anime. I'm delighted to see (or have read) that you are excited about this club and our first meeting this Thursday (yes, its fast approaching). We look forward to meeting you. Speaking of which, your forum name. I'm just curious to know where it comes from. - Did you get it from one of the characters from Elfen Lied?
- Or did you changed the name of Nozomu from the manga/anime series "Kanokon"?
- Or am I completely way off <-- (Don't be afraid to pick this one. I usually get these types of questions wrong)
Mind-twisting plots. If you enjoyed Death Note and like to read manga, then I'm sure you will enjoy Liar Game, Monster (very similar to Death Note but in a more "adultish/mature way") , Umineko no Naku Koro ni and Elfen Lied (well, both the manga and the anime on the last two). Try them out, read a little about them, and see if you enjoy it. I can recommend a few others depending on what you think of the ones I mentioned. Anime convention. Ah, so your also going to the NYAF for this coming weekend (25 - 27). Nice nice. Will you be cosplaying or just going to check out the place and see anything of interest? I'm sure you know but a few of us are planning to go as a group to check out the place. There's more info on that on another thread but definitely it's good to know that we will have another club member going to the festival. ichigofields: Nice. Even my Spongebobs seems happy below. What did your R.A. and roommates say when you explained to them what really happened? I hope they checked this thread out as well and got a laugh out of it like you did. I guess I can consider this as a successful thread and day.

@metalgearsilux, nope, they just thought I was insane, and made sure I could breathe. None of them watch anime, so they were like "...what's Inu-Washa? I don't get it..." Imagine an eye roll right there. I think it's pretty self explanatory but you know...some people...

Hi, my name's Kevin (my nickname is my forum name ). I'm a freshman at CAS with an undecided major so far. I'm taking Japanese right now, and anime definitely influenced that decision. I'm a commuter and I come from Brooklyn just about 45 minutes away by train. I consider myself borderline otaku >_< I don't exactly have a favorite anime because I'm too picky to choose one. It'd probably be Code Geass though if I had to pick. I'm the type that hordes large collections of anime but never watches them. When I do start an anime, I try to finish it asap. The last anime I finished was K-on! in the summer (during CAS orientation xD). God I love those moe blobs. Animes I have on my computer, yet haven't watched/finished, are: Baccano, Clannad season 2, Shakugan no Shana, Strike Witches, Genshiken 1/2, Minami-ke season 2/3, Spice and Wolf season 2, Haruhi season 2 (yes, I plan on watching all of endless 8 D:), Hatsukoi Limited, Macross Frontier, and World Destruction. I'm currently downloading Kurenai, Moyashimon, MariaHolic, and Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. As for manga, I only keep up with Bleach and quite a few ecchi series :3 I usually try to find completed series to read so I can finish it without waiting. The last full manga I read was 20th Century Boys and its sequel 21st Century Boys. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read a suspense-drama-mystery manga, though it is a bit slow. The only anime convention I've been to is Otakon 08/09. My friend's sister volunteers there so we get hooked up with free tickets and no waits in lines xD Mostly what I did there was splurge on stuff in the dealer's room. I have a figurine collection in my room along with some other miscellaneous otaku stuff. As for games, I easily get addicted to MMORPG's. I'm currently playing Dungeon Fighter Online, which is a 2d beat-em-up. It just got realeased for open beta last week and I've been playing it constantly >_< I used to play DDR, but I stopped for the last three years of high school. My stamina has dropped so low because I became a hikki I'll be playing it during the commuter escape before the club meeting though. I also play random FPS's. I play Starcraft, Brawl, and Mario Kart Wii somewhat competitively. So yeah, I'll be at the first meeting and you'll recognize me easily by my shirt. It's a hen wearing a tie. edit: Holy crap. After reading this topic, I realized Jeffrey's in my jap class and Chang is in my freshman honors seminar HAI GAIZ!

I would've been more active in recruiting you. I've been approaching random people to see if they were into anime and it's pretty awkward when they say no. Sometimes I luck out and find someone thats somewhat interested but I have to do some convincing to sign them up for the club. Well glad you're here.

Hi, I'm peter. I go to stern and am probably going to major in Actuarial Science. I love to play video games and watch anime which is why i'm psyched for this club. I have watched many many many types of anime and am ok with just about anything. I love stuff like lucky star, zetsubo sensei, Gintama, as well as any action anime with plenty of intrigue like code geass of gundam 00. For video games i am pretty adept at pretty much everything except for like horribly over played games like guitar hero or brawl, or halo 3. People who are really good at those games are ridiculous.
