So as you may or may not know, we do not have a meeting scheduled for this week, OH NOES! But fear not, we have a spectacular idea for an outing on Friday or Saturday. (YOU HAVE TWO VOTES) If you are a freshman I especially recommend this outing for you to go out and taste some of the amazing stuff only Manhattan has to offer. A lot of people have already expressed interest in going, so show up and bring your friends! Here's a list of possiblities that you can vote on in the poll. We did some research and these were the best places. (stole this from Luis) 1. Kenka (on Saint Marks, near 2Bros Pizza. Look for the giant Tannooki statue right outside the restaurant) 2. Morimoto (if you watched Iron Chef, then you KNOW this is a must) -->http://www.morimotonyc.com/ 3. Ninja ( near Hudson Street. There is a reason why its called Ninja). -->http://www.ninjanewyork.com/index.html 4. Japonica (between 12th and 13th street and University Place... awesome atmosphere) -->http://www.japonicanyc.com/ 5. Spice (one is located between university place and Broadway, on 13th street. Another is located on 4th avenue, between 12th and 13th street) -->http://www.spicethainyc.com/ NOTE:When you go to this page, click on the "Spice" icon. It should redirect you to another page. So please vote in the poll and let me know if you want to go, and if you would prefer Friday night or Saturday night. We will most likely be meeting up on campus and then moving as a group, and Zack offered to be our tour guide since he is so well-versed on directions. Be advised that you do have to cover your bill. But if you haven't gone out to eat in Manhattan yet and are stuck eating Downstein slop, this is a great opportunity for you. Also you guys gotta see this Iron Chef America clip if you haven't already: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ-Ukh_Eaa8

I've never been to any of these places, so I'm okay with anything, but I voted for Ninja, since it looks awesome and I love ninjas

shamelessly, I was swayed entirely by the intro video. Morimoto or Ninja for sure, but I voted ninja cause it's called ninja.

.. I'd-I'd love to go. BUT OMFG GUYS, aren't these places [Morimoto and Ninja] notoriously expensive? xDx *SOWANTSTOGOTHOUGHOMG* xDx Ninja's intro is very swaying, though, I have to say.

Not so much expensive. I mean, if you can handle the price of coming to NYU, then these places are just the right cost. I'll get the menu tomorrow when i have a chance and put the prices here. So far, Ninja seems to be the clear winner.

I read the topic title and was like: WTF IS THIS?
But yea, Friday may work for me, if it's after work (after 6 most likely 7). Not sure if I will go either way. Going out goes against my nature as an introvert.

I am pretty poor too, maybe you and me and whoever else is poor can just chip into a sushi plate we can all share?

I think it's more along the lines of, "we're poor but our parents aren't".

I think it's more along the lines of, "we're poor but our parents aren't". WORD Yeah I'm thinking that splitting some high quality sushi amongst friends would be the most economical thing to do no matter where we go.I do think that one day we're going to have to cross the Hudson over here to the Mitsuwa Market place. Japanese fast YET OH SO GOOD food [And a taiyaki/creamyaki stand *A*], a full-blown Japanese market that beats M2M in variety [And price range, for those giant daikon imports], a Sanseido Bookstore and Mars NY for all your otaku, matsuri [They sell yutaka!], and random Japanese decoration needs [Paper lanterns, koinobori, and other knick knacks].

Great, just what I needed. More temptation to make me broke again/go into debt. Lol, I'd love to go there sometime. As sapphi said, if not with the club, take me along sometime.
