NYU Club Anime discount for NYCC/AF 2011

Hey all NYU Club Anime members,

Hope your summers are are going well. Only a few more weeks before another year of awesome anime and anime-related shenanigans!

As some of you know, we have obtained a $10 discount to New York Comic Con/Anime Fest this year (Thursday Oct. 13 - Sunday Oct. 16).

The prices (discount included) are as follows:

4-Day Pass (Fri-Sun PLUS Thursday preview night): $80
3-Day Pass (Fri-Sun): $60
Friday Pass: $30
Saturday Pass: $45
Sunday Pass: $30

We will be ordering passes on two dates - September 9th and September 30th. The 4-Day Passes are in limited quantity and we cannot guarantee that they will last until the 30th. If you want the 4-Day Pass, please plan to order by the 9th.

In order to receive the discount we must receive your money (cash) before one of those dates. Passes will be picked up on-site on the day of the convention (Thursday or Friday) by the eboard and distributed throughtout the weekend.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED: email [e-mail], or post on the forums with which Pass you would like. We will start a preliminary list. You will not be guaranteed a pass until the above dates AND we have your money. We will email you confirmation on the above dates.

Last year was amazing and everyone had a blast. If you did not come last year we hope to see you. If you did, we hope to see you again!

Do you guys feel like the Thursday preview thing is worth it? Or should I just get the Friday-Sunday pass?

I'm still waiting to decide, but would assume the best swag will be given on Thursday.

If you aren't sure if the extra $20 is worth it, just think of it as extra time in the dealer's room so you wont have to waste valuable con time there later.

Ticket LinesThese babies are going fast, faster than we can even keep track of but the real scoop is that the ticket mailing deadline is quickly approaching. If you want the excitement of receiving your New York Comic Con tickets in the mail you have to purchase them on or before September 16. There are no exceptions and c'mon admit it, you love to get mail, who doesn't? Otherwise you will be stuck in the dreaded ticket lines just like the poor fans above at NYCC 2010. Also, this year we have exclusive 4-Day tickets.... Why might you want a 4-Day Ticket, you ask? Only to be among the first fans to access show exclusives AND to access the Thursday night opening ceremonies (details and special surprises coming soon). Thursday night is going to be tremendous and the only way to get in is a 4-Day ticket and they are almost sold out.... So hurry! -Lance Fensterman

If you order with the first batch of tickets(Sept 9th), then you should get your ticket earlier. You won't receive it in the mail, but we should receive it earlier than the second batch of purchases which will be picked up on the Thursday of.

ok, there have been some developments lately and this may apply to other people in club

the International House and Genshiken floors in Palladium are considering (more than likely doing at this point) getting residents free tickets. Now the specifics we don't know yet (like what kind of tickets) since we only brought it up last night.

Hopefully it won't be just a Friday ticket like the genshiken floor did last year but who knows, the floors are combining budgets to make a lot of events happen so hopefully a 3 day ticket will be a possibility.

So just putting that out there, for those who are living on those floors you may want to hold off on getting 3 day or 1 day tickets until the club's later order date because the particulars will be sorted out by then. If you are getting 4 days then definitely go through club's sept. 9th order date.

Just to clarify, 3-day weekend passes are $60.
