^Anyone have an estimate on this? If I end up paying $100 for travel and room, then I don't think I'll go. All I can say is that you'd be lucky to pay that little. Last year I paid around $70 total for hotel, but that's because I stayed in a hotel room with seven other people, which you're not technically supposed to do. Then if you add travel costs and it's somehow very cheap, I'd say you'd be around $100 at least. =/ That's money I could be spending on stuff I don't need.

Well there's plenty of opportunity to buy stuff you don't need at AB. =3 Awesome stuff you don't need, like plushies and manga.

UPDATE: NYU Club Anime Facebook Page www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=119552668067076There you will find the Anime Boston Event. For those of you without facebook (who doesn't have one now?), ask questions on the forum or message me. Directly from the event: So here's the preliminary breakdown: $20 for bus roundtrip $120 for hotel for 4 people/room (3 nights); the Marriott is actually the cheapest and i want to know how many people are going so i can book now. $45 for tickets as a group TOTAL (ESTIMATE): $185. yes a little expensive. for those who want to cut down we can: squeeze more into each hotel room (even though i personally would prefer not to). but this can be discussed in more detail later.

What bus do you plan on taking? I want to take a bus in a group but my parents won't let me take anything out of Chinatown because there were a few accidents involving one bus company a few years back, I think it was Fung Wa or something. I think our best bet would be the Bolt Bus, because it goes right to South Station in Boston. They don't have schedules up for April yet, but it's cheap and it's direct. www.boltbus.com/default.aspxBut there's also Peter Pan bus, which is pretty cheap as well: www.peterpanbus.com/new-low-fares-boston-nyc/ They do have schedules up, and their most convenient bus time would be 4:30, arriving at 8:50. Remember for people who are pre-registered badge pick-up ends at 10 P.M. Thursday night so the whole point in getting there early is to arrive before 10. Now it's $30 for round trip bus tickets with them but if $10 more is going to make or break someone's trip budget then they shouldn't be going to an anime convention. If anyone else knows of other options, feel free to say. I'm just trying to help out with options here. Also, I still need 3 more female roommates--contact me ASAP, if possible.

Poly goer here, so yeah I want to go but as far as the actual plans like fare wise, it's still up in the air for me. If I can I'll go with a friend who lives in Boston and severely reduce my own costs, and possibly write a review to get the ticket paid for by the school. But again that's up in the air because I don't even know if he's going and even then I need a car, which still seems to be an issue with Pax East coming up in March. Such a mess ><. But yeah, just let me know of a deadline for money and if nothing comes off of my "plan", I'll probably go with you guys.

^u must be david.
anyways i am officially setting the deadline the week before spring break. the group ticket discount runs through the 25th of march (a friday) so technically i can set it the day before. so yeah the 'extended' deadline is the 24th. if u commit to going you don't have to get the money to me by the deadline BUT i will mark you down as a definite when i apply for tickets and book hotel rooms so if you bail i will personally come find you, beat the shit out of you, and then force you to cough up the money. so...it's better to get the money to me by the deadlines. as always please pm over the forums or on facebook about any questions you may have. i will collect money every meeting; if you can't make it to meetings just let me know so i can get it from you else where.

Sorry, I don't have the finances for another con, unless I can pay in pocket lint and broken dreams of a terabyte hard drive and drawing tablet. ;_;
I wish everyone a great time, though, please have fun and take lots of pictures! ^^

i hear jack can offer us a ride down there HAHAHA Speaking of, though, I'm actually thinking of driving down, since I love driving anyway. Just wondering, any idea what kind of parking options they'd have? If it's gonna be like the city, where you have to pay like crazy to get into a parking garage and can't just park on the street, then it probably won't be worth it. I've only been to Boston once, but it seemed a lot less crowded than Manhattan so I dunno.

Parking in Boston is expensive. I'd avoid that if at all possible.

Parking in Boston is the worst thing in the world. What I'm doing is parking at Alewife station and taking the T into Boston on Friday, it's the cheapest way to store a car for three days.
Also not going to be at club tomorrow. Nick, will you find me and beat me if I give you the money the week after break?
