Yeah I checked and didn't see a Smash thread. If I'm being a massive noob and totally missed a huge thread devoted to smash bros, feel free to let me have it. Working off the assumption that there isn't one, though, let's go crazy!
First things first, I have a Wii. I'm not really into playing online, just because it lags so much that it's painful, but I'm always down for letting people play on my console. I only have two controllers (those special, Japan only white ones, which are AWESOME), so you might have to bring your own, but that's usually what hardcore smashers do anyway so woteva.
As far as the characters, I love Diddy. He's the one I was most excited for since the first video game I ever owned was DKC2 (sad childhood, I know), and apparently he's ranked God-tier, which means I can re-live my childhood while being really overpowered. Shweetness!
But yeah, if you ever wanna play smash let me know, or if there's ever a crazy smash tournament going down DEFINITELY let me know. Also if someone ever hosts a tourney and needs a spare Wii, you can use mine. I have all the chars and stages unlocked - I only say that cause one time at a tournament, this dude's Wii didn't have Toon Link or Wolf, and people were raging and cursing God. It was kinda messed up.

64 version is god tier, I accept no substitutes. But I'm not really into fighting games, I'd rather play New Super Mario Bros Wii or MARIO GALAXY HELL YEAH.
I play Kirby when I do play, having fond memories of Kirby SuperStar when I first picked up Smash.

64 version was MY LIFE all throughout middle and high school. My cheap ass high school spent money on nothing but the football team and TVs for every room, so we all pooled our old N64s and equipped all the cool teachers' rooms with 64s complete with either Smash Bros or Mario Kart. I always played Captain Falcon, I just think that the 64 version was the most skill based, reliant entirely on timing and dodges and character manipulation. :3

Damn, I wish I had a 64 in my dorm.... that, or they should make the original Smash Bros available on virtual console - that way you can have brawl, melee, or 64 smash all at once, which would be awesome (although getting used to not using the 64 controller would be trippy).
