;U I'm fine with either location, maybe Kimmel cause it's a.) on campus, b.) it's an easy place to meet up/find people? I second the motion. even though F.P. is really close to coral, I'd just as soon stay on campus at Kimmel and wait for the meeting.

I'm on the 15th floor. What floor are you? @luis: Do you know if there are any trains we can take up to union square to transfer to the L train? Or should we just walk to Union Square. Btw, here's some things you might want to keep in mind as the big day approaches. www.animeacademy.com/con_survival.phpAlso, don't forget to bring some things. Ticket or Pass(you'll need this so make sure you don't forget it) Camera(if you want to take pictures) Water or some kind of drink(it can get pretty hot sometimes, and you'll be doing a lot of walking so keep yourself hydrated) Food or snacks(you'll probably get hungry, a heads up, the food in the javits center is really bad and really expensive, you can go to eat outside if you want but you'll have to walk a bit)

HAHAHAHA I lived there last year! Only for about a month or so. My roomates loved me but Chad and Choices does not mix at allll . Kind of a sad but necessary farewell, then I escaped to Broome which was a little more liberal than the choices floor at Coral

If you guys and girls will be meeting at Kimmel, I would suggest taking the R or W train on 8th street and Broadway. It will take you one stop over to 14th St/Union Square, where you can take the "L" train. However, since the "A" train will be the closest train to the Javit Center (I'll be referring to the Javit Center for these three days as the NY version of Comiket"), I would also suggest to just walk to 6th avenue and 3rd street (exactly 4 blocks west from Kimmel, a much shorter distance than walking to the R,W train.
Speaking of "Comiket," are we going to pull a Genshiken by any chance? I have a strong feeling that if we get enough people as a group, we may be able to do a Genshiken (if you have no idea what I speak of, read the manga called Genshiken and observe how the club members approach Comiket). What is everyone thoughts about this?

What is everyone thoughts about this? I'll be Madarame with the broken wrist. Anyway, what'd they really do besides walk around and buy a ton of stuff? You don't mean to donate the stuff we buy to the club do you? Or will you buy me stuff? Oh, you mean how they got there on different trains? Well we're going as a group so that's not it. Or maybe you mean the standing in line? You know what, just tell me. Okay if you know a closer way to get there, then I'll leave the directions to you. But if you start getting us lost, I'm going back to union square to get there my way.

No problem. I have learned my way in and around the MTA subway for years (long story short, trying to get yourself lost when you are only 13 years old is kinda hard). I think we will be getting there early but that is always a plus. Donate the stuff to the club? Are you mad, especially with how the economy has been behaving? Sure, we can share and lend some stuff to one another, similar to our "library" idea. Overall Prez, I have a feeling that if you do get a broken wrist, you will continue onward to enjoy the festival. I'll pretty much be Sasahara and acquire as much as I can this time around, especially if I have a map with all the destinations I will need to invade first. hehe. For the time being, yes, I do mean that we will be outside, waiting on the loooonngg line. Hope it doesn't rain though. This is a random question but who is going to cosplay and who wants to bring their cameras? It would be great to have group shots once in a while to show to the club afterward. Its just one suggestion I'm throwing out there.

Uh, yeah, some things: wandering around the dealer room is a great way to kill time. Remember to check what stores sell what to get the best prices. Last year, the weather during nyaf was pretty bad. Some rain and cloudiness. Anyway, the lines will all be indoors so you shouldn't have to worry about it. Some stats: Attendance at convention per day: NYAF - 18,000 Otakon - 26,000 Comiket - 560,000 btw, I'm really skeptic about NYAF registered numbers. There wasn't that many people there. It was probably 10,000 to 15,000 at best. Source

Because I like knowing how I'm going to get to places... SO whichever route we take, once we get off the subway do we have to use a bus to get the rest of the way to Javits? I tried Trip Planning it just to see what the route would look like and it keeps saying that we have to get off at Penn and then take a bus there. O__o;; Correct me if I'm wrong
Annnnd on a random note - yes, I'm bringing a camera but as for cosplay? Not this time ^^;

It's about 3 really long blocks. It would take maybe 15 minutes to walk. I'm not taking a bus.

Exactly. Think about it this way. Think about walking from Kimmel to about Forbidden Planet. That is the approximate distance from the A train station in Penn Station to the Javits. It will be better to walk there as well. It will be cloudy that day but no rain.

Well, I'm not gonna be able to go, guys. I thought I had it all worked out, but sadly finances are just too short. So maybe the next one.

So, at the meeting tomorrow (which I'll be late to) we're going to go over where to meet and when, right? I got a weekend... but I'm pretty sure I can only go saturday and sunday (unless I skip a couple recitations)

I got a weekend... but I'm pretty sure I can only go saturday and sunday (unless I skip a couple recitations) Yeah, we'll tell people where and when we're going at the club. I'm also gonna get a signup sheet going. I'll just need the people that are going to give me their phone numbers, emails, names, what days they're going. That way if we're all waiting at the meeting place, I can call whoever's late to make sure they're still going.
