And another week has come and gone. Our first wednesday meeting of the year. The reason the meeting was on wednesday this week is cause we couldn't book a room on thursday so it was either wednesday or skip the week. I hope you agree that this was the better choice. Bakemonogatari Umineko no Naku Koro ni Ga Rei Zero Seitokai no Ichizon(new show of the season) Kampfer(new show of the season) Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS(mai waifu) I'm actually not planning to show the rest of the season. This was meant to be an introductory taste to see if you like it and start from the first season. However, if it gets votes, then I'll keep showing it. Hetalia Only really showed this cause there wasn't much time left. Here's italy's chance to get back on the lineup. Oh yeah, and if you don't get the title of the thread, I'm saying third meeting=third child. Hehe, yeah, not that clever.

Umineko is starting to turn out as gory and fucked up as Higurashi ^_^ Me likey. I liked Seitokai no Ichizon I can't believe there was no reaction to the K-on! reference though D: Kampfer was... wtf to say the least I've never heard that kind of voice on such a tall male character, only on younger and more shorter ones. And that wasn't even the worst of the problems...

Kampfer made me doubt my sexuality.

Before I begin, let me perform one action on behalf of Chad (the guy on the left) and myself (man on right): Why would I do such a thing? (I) The Middle Eastern/"K-On" music video that Aaron provided in another thread. Also, (II) Once I read the word "third" and "Shinji", there was an instant connection. I think I have seen to much of EVA. Now, back to the main topic. Here is my view of today's meeting: Positives: (I) Bakemonogatari, Umineko, Kampfer, and Seitokai made my night. Good shows and it seems that the club is finally deciding a "club show" like how we had Soul Eater and Kannagi last year. (II) A good turnout and it seems that our name is going around campus. (III) There seems like a sense of communication among members. We are finally talking to one another unlike last year, where some members talked to one another from time to time. In addition, we are getting feedback from the audience. Keep it up! Negatives: (I) I personally did not like the other series that I didn't mention under the "positive" list. Not enough action or that the series is simply slowing down (I'm looking directly at you Gai-Rei). (II) It is good to have fan subs, moe-moments, and anything else that most male anime followers love to watch. However, I got the feeling that today was too much... female oogling or whatever you want to call it. In short, Jeffrey, Chad, Zack, and myself should try to broaden our categories of anime. More action, suspense, and cliff hanger (this time, I'm looking at you Bakemonogatari and Kampfer). (III) Where are the LULZ videos? We had about three or four. We gotta start searching. The more laughs we get, the better it is for the club. Overall/Final Reaction: "B+" or "86/100". Again, I had a strong feeling that tonight's meeting was mostly to please the male audience with either ecchi or moe moments. There were a few exceptions like Umineko and Hitalia but, overall, it was mostly sexy female characters making awesome posses, which I don't mind if its a few female characters/episodes... ;D. Any questions or comments about my view, feel free to leave a message. Adios!

I agree that don't say indy would be better as a thread thing rather than show it to people that wouldn't get it. Alright, about the fanservice, I couldn't do anything about bakemonogatari. Everyone wanted to watch it. I admit kampfer was my idea. Hey but it was pretty good. As long as it provides a good amount of entertainment along w/ the fanservice, I don't care. I'll let the votes speak for it. My favorite part was all the references in kampfer. Like the gundam and seiyuu references.

It's funny how Kämpfer's genderswapping isn't really anything new per se. We all know it's beeen done before but I suppose it's the particular way the writers try to play it up that makes everyone a little bit more uncomfortable (in a good way?). Oh and I found the reason why Natsuru sounds like a girl even as a guy. He's voiced in both forms by the same actress, Marina Inoue, surprisingly enough.
Hm, I thought people would get the K-On! video. Well, back to the dark recesses of the internet to dig up more videos.

I got the K-On! video.
I know genderswapping isn't new. Kashimashi, ranma, To Love-Ru, etc. Its just that Kampfer introduced Natsuru as a hot chick, then suddenly dashes your hopes. In the others, either they establish themselves as guys first, or they're not introduced in a sexy way.

I pose the question "how many people actually have seen K-On?" We gotta make sure that any episodes that have a reference to another series, people will get them. Like with Zetsubou sensei, there was a reference to Mahou Sensei Negima that I felt I was the only one who understood it perfectly (watch it below). But yes, we just gotta be careful.

Eh I might just show the first episode like I was planning much to Zack and Chad's disappointment. That's if we have time.

I'm just tossing this out there, but i met some people in the audience who actually haven't watched what we consider as common knowledge among anime watchers... like K-on, lucky star or even haruhi. You might want to make some sort of poll to see what % of ppl have seen them, as common as they are.
