Fear not, ladies and gentlemen, I will be more active when the new year starts. Hope you guys had very awesome summers. So as an intro into the new semester, here's that Touhou anime second season I said I'd do.
14. Return
Reimu wakes up in an Eientei stretcher. The force from the final spell had landed her and Sanae in comas. In the course of the days Reimu was unconscious, Mima, the self-proclaimed god of the Hakurei shrine was released from her prison, an old PC-98. Mima then officially renounced Reimu as the shrine maiden and proceeded to take over Gensokyo, in which she was successful for the most part. Mima has yet to make her move, but word has it she is busy mustering forces for total war and will strike on the first full moon of the next season. For now, there's an interim period of a shaky temporary peace. To rectify the situation, Reimu goes to Yukari to open a gap into a hyperbolic time chamber. In the process, Reimu begrudgingly drags Sanae along. However, Reimu makes a mistake in inputting the numbers for the chamber. Instead of receiving three months of training in a week, she receives a year of training over three months. Over the next three months, Gensokyo will be without an official shrine maiden, and as a result, the border has become distorted. Many strange -even by Gensokyo standards- phenomenons will take place. Hopefully, when the season passes, Reimu and Sanae will be able to defeat Mima. In the meantime, the girls will have to hold their own against a swarm of new enemies. As for Mima, she puts up a "shrine maiden hiring" poster. Over the course of the season, there will be scenes where Mima interviews applicants (like certain low level bosses) and rejects all of them.
15. New Age of Magic
Rinnosuke happens upon a few comic books, puts them for sale, and suddenly Gensokyo is caught in superhero fever. Kaguya treats the situation like it's nothing new. Meanwhile, two residents take things to heart. Youmu becomes completely obsessed with Danny Phantom while Yamame becomes a huge Spiderman fan. Basically, any girl who has powers similar to that of a western superhero becomes an instant fan. The next step in the obsession results in an explosion of superheroics in Gensokyo. i.e Nitori has already designed her Iron Man suit. Of course the joke in all this is that nothing has really changed. The girls who have donned the hero moniker haven't gained any newfound powers or spells, they have merely traded in frilly hats for spandex. Most of the deeds range from helping a local farmer to mild youkai extermination. Meanwhile, Reimu is terribly annoyed at the whole fad of superheroes taking over her job as Gensokyo's defender, but considering her trapped state, she vents her frustrations on Sanae, cowering in fear. On the other extreme, Kaguya goes nuts over the new fad and even helps design the costumes based on her staggering collection. Eirin is as confused as ever. One of the moon's most powerful beings idolizes a few lower stage bosses in masks? Go figure. Now where there are superheroes, there must be supervillains. Cirno feels she isn't cut out for hero work as Iceman and decides to become the ultimate supervillain presiding over the strongest evil team ever. Her alter ego's genius name? Hellfire. Cirno then summons an interdimensional supervillain convention in scenic Gensokyo. The villains easily crush Cirno and proceed to indulge in the power overflowing in Gensokyo. Of course Youmu and her crew of superzeroes won't have takeover as an option. Now keep in mind. Real supervillains fighting fake superheroes. We're taking a page outta "Kick-Ass" here. The girls do rather well, but the progress soon grinds to a halt as the sheer numbers overwhelm. As for Gensokyo's more powerful residents, well, they either discount everything as part of the game or honestly don't care enough to save the day. In a last resort, Kaguya dives at her computer to call every hero in the multiverse. Cue the ultimate battle of good versus evil. The girls of Gensokyo and the heroes of the world against the villains of the world... And Cirno. The villains are defeated and banished. The girls hang up their uniforms in respect and awe of their real heroes at work. Unfortunately for Cirno though, she has been accidentally caught up in the banishing gap with plenty of angry villains. Her beating takes place off screen.
16. Kicking the Bucket
Everyone wants to know what Kisume looks like without her bucket, but she refuses to reveal her lower half. Some speculate Kisume is like a dullahan, others believe her head is attached to an artificial body, and some think a normal body is there, and possibly a fat normal body at that. Cirno chimes in one other theory that Kisume's bucket is a limiter that seals a berserk unstoppable youkai that even dragons fear (like EX Rumia), but that's instantly dismissed. It seems luring/bribing Kisume to take off her bucket doesn't work. (Marisa offers books. Yuyuko offers food... That she instantly devours. Kanako offers ultimate power. Etc.) In fact, the bucket seems stuck. Wacky shenanigans time! Kogasa tries scaring Kisume out. Hina tries spinning Kisume out. Rinnosuke tries industrial glue remover (may be hazardous if in contact with skin). Virtually everyone has a crack at pulling her out (except Flandre). Yukari even ties Kisume to a train to yank her out. The list goes on but nothing works. After tripping on a conveniently placed rock, a convenient cameo from Saber (aka King Arthur) from "Fate/Stay Night" helps her up. And just like a sword in the stone, Kisume is free. However, Cirno's theory is correct and Kisume is really hideously powerful (and so hideous her full depiction is not shown on screen). Saber flees to her home universe, leaving everyone else to deal with total destruction and blindness from the sight of bucket loli's final form. In a last ditch effort, someone rips off Rumia's ribbon to release EX-Rumia, but Rumia is unceremoniously defeated in one blow. Kisume then destroys everything.
17. Nice Job Breaking It Hero
Over at the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Meiling has absolutely had it with her job as gatekeeper between the disrespect and physical injury she constantly receives. Meanwhile, Reisen feels the same about being a "useless bunny only good for sex appeal". One morning, Reisen delivers some inhalers for Patchouli and winds up in a chat with Meiling. The two seem to hit it off well until they start arguing about who has the harder life. "I bet if we switch lives, you'll see how hard my life is!" At that, Yukari gaps in, saying they could switch if they take it up with the writers, and curiously the gap Yukari came in led to the studio. Meiling and Reisen step through and appear in the real world in live-action (we'll get hot cosplaying actresses). Both girls are led by one of the writing staff to the legendary break room with the magic coffee pot. "Coffee brewed in this pot has amazing effects. It gives the drinker the ability to work until five am for three days. It also decelerates approaching deadlines. Some say it even grants wishes, like a season renewal. The only rule is this. If you drank the last cup in the pot, you must brew some more. So, cream or sugar?" The two then split a cup and declare their wish. Cue psychedelic scene transition. Reisen wakes up back in the mansion and is swiftly knifed by Sakuya, demanding her to get to work. Sitting around doing nothing doesn't seem to be as easy anymore with Ms. Izayoi running around barking orders. Other jobs include taking care of Flandre, which ends up pretty ugly, and having to carry out any of Remilia's ridiculous requests. The mansion residents also note how their gatekeeper's Chinese food has taken a dip in quality and that there's too much carrot in her fried rice. Regardless, the worst comes whenever Marisa decides to "borrow" form Patchouli's library. Reisen still gets blasted away and must deal with a typical aftermath of Patchouli's scolding, repairing the mansion, and Sakuya's punishment. Not much is better over in Eientei. Meiling initially seems at peace helping out Eirin with the pharmacy. In fact, knowledge of Chinese cures seems to have helped raise her standing. However things take a turn for the worse when Eirin demands to use Meiling for her tests and experiments, each of which have horrible side effects. Tewi rubs salt in the wound with her trickery everywhere, making more mayhem for her to clean up. Things go downhill when Meiling has to dote on the every whim of Kaguya with her Impossible Requests. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Kaguya goes on nonstop raids for days, not leaving her computer even once. Though of course her immortal body is still functioning and bodily waste has to go somewhere, but that's what the jars are for. Unfortunately, Meiling has to cart out jars and jars of "Jarate" and other garbage. Better hope Tewi isn't around with a slingshot. The worst comes when Mokou attacks Eientei. "It's nothing personal, lady Yagokoro ma'am, but Kaguya's gonna die today!" Meiling would then be tasked with breaking the two up, trying to reduce collateral damage, and cleanup. Though in breaking up the fight, Meiling would usually break something of her's. Both Meiling and Reisen come to an understanding of each other's difficulties and apologize. Upon return to the real world, the girls find a very distressed animation staff, "You fools, you both drank the last pot of magic coffee and forgot to make more! Our deadline is in five minutes! Unless we come up with something, you won't be able to go home and the show will get its budget cu-" The rest of the episode, the ending, and preview is then depicted in crayon. "...Just get your butts home," states a very badly drawn wirter to the girls.
18. Donaldgeddon
The popularity of Ronald x “U.N Owen was Her” videos have caused people to mistake the meme as “McRoll’d”, not knowing an iota of the Touhou behind it. Thanks to this ignorance, a dimensional distortion has opened, letting Ronald McDonald into Gensokyo. Ronald spawns into the Scarlet Devil Mansion’s basement where he hides out for a few days and becomes fast friends with Flandre, all without Remilia’s knowledge. Through these secret playdates, it turns out that Ronald cannot be destroyed by Flandre because the two are “the same”. Likewise, Ronald feels the power in Gensokyo has increased his McMagic. Together, Flan and Ron plot to take over Gensokyo by opening branches of McDonalds all over. The branches seem to do well, attracting curious customers who have never tasted fast food before. Of course, here’s where the plan starts. All the burgers, fries, nuggets, and all have some of Ronald’s and Flandre’s mana signature buried within. (Do not ask how Flandre and Ronald put their “essence” into the food.) Now when the two declare all out war on Gensokyo, obviously people start raising objections. In response the duo use “[Donald Magic] – I’m Lovin’ it”, a spell that causes anyone who has eaten the laced food to become obese, disturbingly clownlike, and be brought under the control of Ronald. But things become worse; the clown slaves are armed with vampirc bites that spread the clowning to anyone. After all, vampires are a type of clown. Now with most of Gensokyo infected, it seems there is no hope, except for two people. Yuyuko has ingested an unhealthy degree of McDonalds, much to the point where Youmu has noted her eating the stuff for all her six meals everyday for one month. However, being a hungry ghost, the food seems to just slip through Yuyuko into some unknown abyss. The other survivor is Mystia Lorelei, who has boycotted McDonald’s since day one for serving chicken. The two see that the fate of Gensokyo is in their hands and… Yuyuko starts trying to eat Mystia. A chase scene leads to both Yuyuko and Mystia crashing headfirst into “some kind of deus ex machina” (literally a black censor bar with said words written on). From the deus ex comes forth the spirits of the two forces that can stand up to Ronald and Flandre: Colonel Sanders and the Burger King. Fittingly, the Colonel’s spirit enters a contract with a very unwilling Mystia while the King and Yuyuko form a contract of their own. The four then take the fight to Flandre for a fast food fight to the finish. Ronald and Flandre synchronize their souls and merge together into a creepy transvestite clown vampire thing. The fight pushes everyone to the limit with special deep fried spells flying everywhere. In one final attack Yuyuko and the king then counter with the Flame-Broiled Fist while Mystia and the Colonel deploy their Secret Eleven Herbs and Spices Eleven Hit Combo. The combined forces subdue the clown and return the pair to normal. Ronald comes to an understanding and calls off his attack. He then thanks Flandre for showing him what friendship was and other corny junk. Upon a last handshake with Flan, Ronald fades away into her body. The Colonel and King thank Yuyuko and Mystia for the opportunity to settle their rivalry and return to the outside world. All those captured by Ronald return to their senses and ownership of the many McDonalds come under the Scarlet family's ownership. Flandre also seems to have obtained a new power, but you'll just have to keep watching to see that in action.
19. Orin & Nazrin
Over in the Palace of the Earth Spirits Satori tells Orin she's going out for the day and to behave. Now who should happen by the palace but Nazrin. Cat youkai, enter mouse youkai. Suddenly, Orin's animal instincts take over and she darts after Nazrin. Cue cartoon shenanigans. (i.e Nazrin hitting Orin with a fold-out ironing board, getting Orin to fall into her own anvil traps) Nazrin seems to have an advantage until the chase follows outside on the surface world. Chen sees Nazrin and follows up in the chase. Two on one turns the tables in the cats' favor. Now Nazrin is getting her rear handed to her. Luckily Momiji strolls by, and like a chain reaction, her instincts as a wolf tengu set her against Orin and Chen. The chase gets wilder and wilder and traps keep getting more elaborate. (i.e grabbing the piano used for the BGM and dropping it while ZUN is still playing it.) Nazrin finally runs up to Shou Toramaru for her safety. It turns out that Satori was having tea with Byakuren and Shou that day. Only Satori and Byakuren's legs and lower body are depicted a la adult figures in old cartoons. Upon seeing the mass collateral damage from the chase, Satori severely punishes Orin. Ran then rushes in and scolds Chen for her naughty behavior. Finally, Aya captures photographs of Momiji's wild rampage, hello tomorrow's headlines. Everything seems to have worked out for Nazrin, who then muses as to why her good friend Shou protects her all the time despite the fact that Shou is a tiger. Shou then asks if Nazrin wants to go to some hot springs. Nazrin accepts and unknowingly finds herself in a stew pot.
20. Educational Episode
ZUN and the producer wash up stranded on a deserted island. Fortunately, a cooler filled with beer washes up as well. One of these bottles has a message inside. Apparently, various political lobbies and the FCC have deemed the show obscene, politically incorrect, and offensive. As such, the show will be canceled unless it proves it has redeeming value. At the mention of an educational episode, ZUN dives, grabs a whale ashore, and throws it. Mid-flight, the whale sprouts wings and flies to the studio, where it crashes through the window to perch on the key animator's desk to deliver the message a la carrier pigeon. The actual episode involves Mokou as an "exploradora" going to visit her "friend" Kaguya, who works at the hospital Eientei. But to get to Kaguya, she must fulfill five Impossible Requests. Mokou is allied by her best friend Keine the cow. The two come across the Buddha's Stone Bowl when they find Youmu serving Yuyuko lunch. After feeding her enough, the two get the bowl and head over to a conveniently appearing bridge that crosses over to the island of Penglai, where the jeweled branch lays. However, to get across, the duo is confronted by Parsee who is the grumpy old troll who lives under the bridge, and if they wish to cross they must solve her riddle. "What walks on four legs in the morning, two in midday, and three in the evening?" After easily answering the old joke, Parsee still doesn't give in from jealousy of her adversaries' intelligence. Parsee then calls upon her "legions of fans" to her aid, which cues in the entry of two average looking bored humans. Parsee breaks down in tears and lets the two pass. After getting the branch, Mokou and Keine fly over to China for the Robe of the Fire Rat, which is in Meiling's possession. The task is to wake Meiling up through a heavy beating, easily said and easily done. Treasure four is a jewel from a dragon's neck, which Iku holds, but to earn it from her, Mokou is challenged to a dance-off. The final request is for a cowrie raised by swallows, and said snail is vacationing at Mystia's place. The cowrie is handed over but Marisa quickly flies in to swipe it. After repeating a certain phrase three times, Marisa is thwarted but allowed to come along. Finally the group arrives at Eientei, where everyone crashes into Kaguya's room to interrupt her game of Starcraft II. Mokou and Kaguya stare at each other as the five requested objects fall to the floor, and right on time, a fight breaks out. The moral of the story is given by Marisa, "Violence solves everything! If it's not working, then you're just not using enough of it!" The episode ends with everyone engaged in sheer destruction and panning out to a shot of the earth complete with a Dragonball-esque explosion.
21. We Are All One
Yuka has a lovely day as a sadistic dominatrix planned. Tenshi plans on visiting and Yuka's prepared the chains, candles, whips, etc. Cue a musical number where Yuka sings about how wonderful it is to be powerful and cruel with 2ch Anonymous blasted everywhere. However, Yuka then realizes she has jury duty at Eiki's court today. The solution is clear. Yuka goes into the celler, pulls a bound Anonymous out and fires a Double Spark at it, but instead of merging back with the clone she made to execute Double Spark, Yuka tells her clone to go serve at the court. Though it should be known, clone Yuka is not complete and will not behave as Yuka wishes. Clone Yuka flies into town and starts acting inexplicably nice. Shocked humans and lesser youkai marvel at her good deeds. At jury duty, the clone is an absolute overemotional bleeding heart that only wishes justice be done. Errands finished, clone Yuka begins to return home, but Parsee Mizuhashi casts her envious gaze at the mighty clone Yuka, desiring her power. Parsee then uses her own clone spell and orders her clone to switch places with Yuka's clone. Parsee then merges with Yuka's clone while Parsee's clone disguises herself as Yuka. After sexy time, Yuka unknowingly merges with Parsee's disguised clone, and suddenly she feels her power level drop. "My beautiful sexy power, gone!" Yuka is sent into further despair when she learned how her clone was nice to people. Over the days, Yuka feels weaker, envious, and somewhat tsundere. Parsee feels stronger and definitely more murderous with a piece of Yuka in her body. Somehow Yuka tracks down Parsee and threatens her for her clone back. Parsee accepts but unfortunately Flandre was on the loose practicing her cloning spell, Taboo [Four of a Kind], and she gets caught up in the re-merging. The girls try again but as luck would have it, Marisa was practicing Double Spark herself, and she gets caught in the mess. The girls then try putting themselves back together but every time another girl is experimenting with cloning. (Eirin has a new clone drug, Kanako has a conspiracy, Youmu turned Myon into a perfect replica, etc.) With everyone in Gensokyo having a piece of herself in everyone else, Cirno suggests everyone merge into one and then split each girl out one by one using a giant merge/split button. Everyone else objects due to horrible repercussions, but everyone else is too late, Cirno has pushed the button. Everyone fuses together and the sight provides nightmare fuel for the audience. Reimu and Sanae look at the disaster from a cystal ball and then exchange looks of disgust.
22. Not Happening
Alice is feeling as lonely as ever. The chains of unrequited love bind her and as she wastes away her days in seclusion. One evening, while crying herself to sleep, Alice encounters a mysterious gap. Alice steps through and is then transported to an alternate universe where mercenaries fight in a giant war with high tech steampunk weapons and gun each other down with bullets that behave much like danmaku. Most of these mercenaries are male, with few females (it's not a parallel universe). Alice meets the red-white clad Captain Raymond Harlock and his associate the black-white clad "Warlock" Marcel Kirisame. Alice then learns of other mercenary teams Harlock does combat with. Remy Scarlet's Scarlet Knights are a long line of servants to European nobles. Border Inc. is a huge corporation that popularized teleportation and infiltration. The Ayakashi are famous "phantom killers". The Crescent Clan is a noble samurai clan. The Judges have a comprehensive legal knowledge and their men; their "Reapers" are the most efficient killers. The Moriya clan mostly serves as bodyguard to relief workers, missionaries, and doctors. There's also rumor of an underground team led by a famous mind-reading psychic and an idealistic pacifist team. Alice serves alongside Harlock's team and starts developing affections for the mischievous thief Marcel, much to the envy of the Knights' private scholar Patricia Knowledge. Alice participates in many battles, amazing everyone with her magic. Eventually, there comes a particularly difficult mission to disable a dimensional superweapon by Border Inc. The mission suddenly goes wrong when the target, Border Inc.'s CEO, turns out to be Yukari Yakumo? Yukari pins down Ray's team, holding all three at gunpoint. All is lost until Alice has one of her dolls disable the lights in the room, allowing Harlock to make a beeline for the dimensional weapon. Meanwhile, Marcel readies his famous "Master Spark" shot and asks Alice for her power. Yukari counters the impending attack and breaks up the romantic moment by ripping open a return gap to Gensokyo behind Alice, despite the fact the sheer force will destroy the superweapon. In Marcel's final words, he promises to bring peace to his world and someday find Alice again. As an impromptu parting gift, Marcel gives his laser, the Hakkero. Alice is finally sucked back home. The episode ends with Alice clutching the portable laser to her heart; bittersweet tears trickling down.
23. The Aki Sisters Episode
Minoriko and Shizuha Aki learn they finally have an episode dedicated to them. However, they promptly learn that it has been canceled. So the two take it up with the staff in real life live action and go to the studio by stepping through a very trippy gap(we get perfect actresses in cosplay again). "I'm sorry girls. It's not your fault but the crowd doesn't seem to take to you. I don't even know if people recognize you two" And so starts a test where the staff goes around in real life with the Aki sisters to ask real people, "do you know these girls?" Chances are, even many Touhou fans find the Aki sisters harder to recall. The film crew also records footage of the girls doing various publicity stunts (concerts, game signings, etc.) to get their names out, which will happen in real life. Finally, it seems nothing works, so the sisters return home, but they return to a Gensokyo that is starved of food and freezing to death because the harvest goddess was away too long and the autumn goddess' departure removed autumn. Well, looks like the Aki sisters get to save the day and get their episode after all. Meanwhile Medicine Melancholy materializes in our world pleading for her episode.
24. Preface
Mima is about to finish summoning of the Forces of Darkness (TM), which she has been doing the whole season, and kicks freeloader Suika out of the shrine to house soldiers (old PC 98 enemies). Meanwhile, all of Gensokyo must prepare for war, but only Marisa, Suika, and the Moriya shrine folks know how dangerous the situation has become. Conscription time! Everyone comes on board eventually, be it by request, loyalties, or by threats. Everyone gathers together with a "well, we all got dragged into this somehow" expression as they count down when the chamber will open. And lo and behold, Reimu and Sanae step out looking like Super Saiyans in front of their army. Four generals will be chosen. Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, and Sanae all receive this accolade, mostly because no one else stepped up and hey, playable characters.
25. Finale
The objective is to take back the Hakurei Shrine and defeat Mima. The strategy is to simply surround the shrine where then the four generals will take on Mima. Unknown to our heroes, Mima's plot is to unseal the dragons and manipulate their power to exact revenge on Reimu and open a gateway to our world for domination. The Gensokyo army quickly runs into a rude awakening. Mima's PC-98 minion forces barbarically attack without abandon; the Spell Card Rules and every sort of honorable fighting has been thrown out of the window, since Mima was already banished when they were instated anyway. Forced to go all out, insane power is unleashed on each side. (fun extra: Flandre's new power is summoning Ronald as a Stand, Nitori still has her Iron Man suit, etc.) The four leaders make it to the top and are about to enter the shrine, but by this time Mima has awoken the dragons and absorbed their power to unlock hidden reality bending godhood. Byakuren flies up and lets our heroines know "her call went through". Accompanying Miss Hijiri in a giant tour bus is Shinki. All the other PC-98 girls have come back to take one last shot at Mima. "You need to have a God to beat a God", Shinki declares, trying to look cool. Kanako and Suwako dart up the stairs to aid Sanae with their full blessings and declare "Super Secret Ultimate Crimson Weapon X" (aka a giant mech made by Nitori and powered with Utsuho's strength) will destroy all of Mima's minions. Alice and Patchouli give a doll and a philosopher's stone respectively. Remilia gives Sakuya what appears to be a miniaturized Gungnir "keychain" about the size of a knife. Finally, Yukari gives Reimu a simple blank spell card, nothing special at all.
26. Finale part 2
Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, and Sanae crash through the shrine doors. Mima's transformation is complete; the vengeful ghost that has always claimed to be a god has become one. At that, the new "goddess of all youkai" makes the first move by summoning 108 different avatars, all with comparable power, a team of minions each, and at no cost. The avatars are told to conquer the Gensokyo army and (duh) the world. Mima then spills her plot for ultimate takeover and vengeance on Reimu. Reimu takes advantage of the evil monologue by shooting Mima point blank. This fails, however, since Mima is still the "true god of the Hakurei Shrine" and since the battle is in Gensokyo, her domain, none of Reimu's spells can affect her. Reimu steps back in shock, but the other three girls pay no mind. The offense continues nonetheless, but is hopeless as Mima fires from all angles, attacking with every facet of earth and reality itself. The whole land is in Mima's control. Even Sakuya's time stops are broken and Sanae's power from her goddesses only ties at best. Things on the battlefield fare slightly better. More potential is revealed like when Cirno takes up her Fusion Sword as Advent Cirno. And so begins a one fairy massacre, but despite the huge cut in numbers, the longer Mima's avatars are in place, the stronger they become until they integrate into Gensokyo itself. The girls need more power to halt Mima's forces, so Shinki unveils what she had been working on all these years and performs fusion with Byakuren, since their spells are so similar. Cue fanservice fusions. (Meiling x Sakuya, Remilia x Flandre, Reisen x Youmu, Aya x Hatate, Kanako x Iku, and so on) Reimu's team has thirty minutes to defeat Mima, lest her avatars break through to our world. Nothing seems to affect Mima, until Reimu realizes something. Mima's power and the stolen dragons' power are only sovereign over Gensokyo. If Mima were anywhere else where her influence (i.e avatars) was not, she could feasibly be injured. Reimu then declares Mima's revenge would not be complete simply killing her, ZUN himself should fall too for his negligence. Sanae chimes in about how wonderful it is to be ZUN's favorite. Marisa brags about the student surpassing the teacher and Sakuya slashes with sarcasm. Mima gets pissed and warps to a wasteland in the outside world with the girls, sights set on ZUN. The fight finally starts evening out. Reimu and Sanae, in a shout-out to most shonen, "ascend to EX Form" and bequeath the same to Sakuya and Marisa. Spells fly back and forth. Marisa uses some of Patchouli's stone to steal more skills while Alice's doll provides a third partner to turn Marisa's new Double Spark into Trinity Spark. Sanae strikes with Kanako's pillars and Suwako's chakrams. Sakuya's "keychain" becomes a huge Gungnir. Reimu simply keeps with her attack, but time is running out. Yet Mima's powers are still rising, leaving our heroines on their last legs as her spells grow more fearsome, especially the signature spell she taught Marisa, Twilight Spark. Shinki's fusion gimmick has ended and Mima's avatars are about to break into the outside world. In one last ditch effort, Reimu attempts to come up with a spell card to seal Mima using the blank card, but said spell needs the strength to remove her godly powers and must draw from the [already weakened] Hakurei Border itself. It's an improvised spell but with the help of the others, the four of them shatter the Border and declare the spell. Mima easily grazes the sealing danmaku while meanwhile, her armada runs right out of a borderless Gensokyo. All of Gensokyo places its hope in one last spell, and this one glimmer of hope from everyone becomes one small shining bullet that is sent outside to Reimu's spell. That one bullet of hope strikes Mima, holding her down for the seal for a second. In the final instant, the spell is complete as all four girls combine attacks. Fantasy Heaven, Twilight Spark, Phantasmic Killer, and Nine Syllable Stabs all at once hit Mima, literally blasting her stolen power out. Finally, Reimu tosses the spell card, capturing Mima in a literal "god card". Back in Gensokyo, Mima's avatars fade away as the dragons regain their power and begin to repair the land. From there things slowly return to normal. While Mima was in control, the shrine actually got many donations and worshipers, but the money got destroyed in the battle, outraging Reimu. Luckily, nobody from the outside world saw any sign of the struggle. As the four fly home, Sakuya reminds the lazy miko that the Border needs repair the second they land in Gensokyo. Yet upon return, the girls are met by a Lunar warship broadcasting worldwide demands to surrender Kaguya and absolute submission from all Earthlings.
Remember the Reisen clones from season one? Yeah, they'll be important.
Season three coming soon. Is our hero ready to jump the shark?
