u sound pretty pretentious for a new comer...im going to go with what jack said earlier: make an effort to get involved and get to know people before spouting off via internet forum. majority of us know each other; we have no idea who you even are. no introductory post or anything. before you start going off it's simple manners to introduce yourself. First of all, I was intentionally trying to remain anonymous to prevent any personal feelings from becoming a part of the conversation. But what do you know? That got fucking blown. not everyone in club is going to want to build and if we dedicate an entire meeting to gunpla building, we're just going to alienate people. That's bullshit. If people really hate gunpla that much, they can just not come to one meeting for a week. We're not telling them that they have to never come again if they don't build gunpla. I see your point with the money issue, but I seriously doubt that there's nobody out there who won't spend a good 30 bucks to have a great time with their hobby and a chance to learn a few things from other people. Even if it's just 10% of the club, that's enough for the event to be successful. oh and i tend to be a pretty abrasive guy, even more so when i'm a little irked. don't take things too personally. Oh yeah? Well you're not the only one. Difference is, I do take it personally, and spouting this shit makes YOU sound like the pretentious one.

Nick's a little harsh with his words, but seriously. Don't assume that we're socially incapable like stereotypical otaku. It's very condescending, and you're not going to make friends with me at the very least with that kind of attitude. Not stereotypically awkward otaku, huh? Then how about you and Nick back the fuck off and stop ACTING like social fucktards? Honestly, it takes quite a bit to get me pissed, but the bullshit I've read in this thread definitely pushed my buttons. I'm pretentious for not introducing myself first? The club members are going to be offended at the gundam meeting if they don't build gunpla? I should be hanging around the commuter lounge all day? Sorry for having a god damn social life outside of anime club, but I can't always take time to hang around the commuter lounge. And like others have said, it's not like it's an official club hangout that gets discussed at meetings.

Okay, seriously this thread needs to die. First admin to read this, please close this thread.
Someone just started cursing and insulting, other person might do god-knows-what.

Yep...this topic is exhausted. A couple of points for informative purposes. - We are not going to devote a meeting to something that alienates most people. We usually try to have a gaming event once a year in place of a regular meeting, and even then try to get some anime in. Weekly meetings are spent watching anime.
- Events, marathons, etc. are encouraged. But it's up to you to get people who are also interested in similar things together and make it happen. The eboard tries to organize "official" events (like Restaurant Night (shameless plug), but really, that's just when we're bored and have time to handle the extra logistics.
- I suggest all new members read the Forum Rules so they dont make....um, lets call them faux pas.
