First of all, does Club Anime at NYU have its own YouTube page? Kind of a stupid question, but everything nowadays has its own Facebook/Twitter/YouTube/whatever page. Also, I have a suggestion. Do you think we can do something similar to what some people at NND do? Like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgx5B3gKEXgwww.youtube.com/watch?v=suxDTXXncCUwww.youtube.com/watch?v=TngWfJUSiLUwww.youtube.com/watch?v=4cn75dC1Fnk...and you get the idea. I figured that this might be fun to do. I'm horrible at singing, but I do love to sing. We can all record this together or separately, have one person (I'll volunteer if no one wants to) put all the audio files together and upload it on YouTube or... somewhere. I dunno, just an idea. What do you think? Let me know if I'm speaking out of my place though. I've lurked around the forum for a few days, I still don't know how to post appropriately. Also, hi. I'm a new member. My name is Jae. I just joined when the club started this semester. Well, I was in the club a year and a half ago, but the club has changed dramatically since then.

Ahaha~ Interesting idea.
We don't have a youtube channel. I had considered making a youtube group so that those of us that do have channels, could join it. But I just couldn't think of anything worthwhile we could upload.
Well, Jenny, our resident kitty kat might wanna record some songs. She's got the voice of a goddess.
This idea makes me think of KARAOKE!!! We have karaoke outings every once in awhile. You should definitely come to the next one.
Anyway, if people are up for this, sounds like it'll be cool. :3

We can make a YouTube account now and think about what to upload later, heh.
How would I contact Jenny?
Karaoke sounds fun, where do you guys usually do it? Do you bring the machine into the club room or do we all go out somewhere?
Thanks for supporting my idea, I appreciate it. If people aren't up for it, I'm fine, I just thought the anime club should do more things other than just watching anime, heh.

Jenny is a tsundere when it comes to karaoke. She doesn't want to go, but she always sings the most and has the most fun.
I basically plan all the karaokes. Well, not necessarily plan, but more like "karaoke next week, come or I'll spam you".
For money's sake, we go to either Duet 35 or 42. I do know of other awesome karaoke places, just a bit pricier and requires actual planning. Thing about people here in general, lotta people cancel, lotta people come un-announced. I personally want to go to Biny, but in order to make it affordable, there is a deal for a 12-person party limit and your party number HAS to be declared.
I completely agree that we should do stuff outside other than just going to club to watch anime. I gather people to do stuff together, so does nick. Sadly, we're really the only two that have the necessary skills and motivation (mainly motivation) to do this.

I'm totally up for singing, even though it causes natural disaster ; A; I'm not that great at singing but I try despite the cracking. I've tried song covers before, but my mic decided to be a jerk. But I'm agreeing with what shinkiro0 said about doing something besides just watching anime in club. I think I mentioned it in another thread created recently. I'm totally willing to help out with anything!
I'd come to karaoke but since I usually listen to only Vocaloid stuff and maybe one or two other things, I'm afraid that I won't find anything to sing. I'll still come though, hopefully.

That's like.... two meetings a semester. Still, better than nothing I suppose. I've never sang in public before, and I'm terribly introverted, so I don't know how that might go. There's a first time for everything though, right? Maybe it was a foolish idea for me to suggest this in the first place since I'm a pretty busy person myself too like most of you. That makes me wonder... do you guys meet during the summer? Jenny is a tsundere when it comes to karaoke. She doesn't want to go, but she always sings the most and has the most fun. When I think of karaoke, I usually think about... 5? Heh, I've only ever been to maybe one in America. Been to a lot back in Korea though, but that was when I was still a kid. Hm... I'm very bad with names and faces. So far, the only person that I can associate a name with a face is Jeff. Maybe on the next meeting, I'll pay more attention to people interacting with each other. I came to the commuter's lounge a few days ago and observed what you guys did, just to get a feel of what happens and... I'm afraid that I haven't learned much yet. I'll have to attend more official and unofficial meetings before I can comfortably fit in. I'm totally up for singing, even though it causes natural disaster ; A; I'm not that great at singing but I try despite the cracking. I've tried song covers before, but my mic decided to be a jerk. And I think Jeff should be the one that makes the account, unless he's too busy, then... I guess I'll make it? Anyway, sorry for the late response. I've been sick for the past week or so and wasn't in much of a mood to make a long reply post.

They've got really good stuff and some pretty killer deals. They're affiliated with Duet 35, though, so I'm not totally sure if it's more of the same.

Yes we have been to duet 48. Exact same songs, just occasionally different MV. Not sure if derpkitty/ryan has been there before though. Unless we can get a group of DEDICATED people who are willing to pay quite a bit more for a couple of hours of karaoke, nothing's really gonna pan out.
I try to keep an eye on value to entice people to come, but I've been having less success with that. There's a place I personally would like to try that features a great deal. 3 hrs of karaoke plus food (yes, food, supposedly good food) for $18 per person. It has to be Sunday-Thursday though. Another thing, no bailing because I refuse to pay for a bailer. The rooms are nicer, we get as many mics as people, blah blah good stuff. Who's down?

Sunday to Thursday....I'm not sure if I can go out on those days unless it was during a vacation/day off. I don't think there's any other days off until Spring Break right? Regardless, I'm interested, I can't exactly afford it right now but consider me interested if I can drag my friend along.

We should do it at night and get decently sauced beforehand. I mean, duet 35 is really hit or miss. They don't have R. Kelly's "Sex Planet." inexcusable.

And honestly, I don't wanna sing that much. It's money I'd rather spend on other things. And don't be too nervous about singing in front of others. We're comrade in arms. And I can always break the ice with some Taylor Swift songs. ;3 Well, there are obviously no regular meetings during the summer. Some people put together some get togethers though, they're usually smaller since there aren't as many people that are around to go. So...you want me to make the channel? Not like it'd take that long. NYU has a youtube channel itself so I guess it couldn't hurt. I try to keep an eye on value to entice people to come, but I've been having less success with that. There's a place I personally would like to try that features a great deal. 3 hrs of karaoke plus food (yes, food, supposedly good food) for $18 per person. It has to be Sunday-Thursday though. If you're concerned about people bailing, I think the safest way for you to do it is to collect the money beforehand, like at the meeting the week before. Then it depends on how many people are willing to pay upfront. You might wanna make a poll to see who's interested. Hah! what they REALLY need is the pokemon theme. but then that's all you guys would pick over and over >_> ^The Truth.
