Chartfag left and now it's some dude named thecartdriver, which is okay with me as long as these charts are still made. Kimi Ni Todoke season 2 will probably be great, like the first season was. Finally some conclusion to one of the slower good romances out there. Wandering Son, which is known to most as Hourou Musuko, is really on the daring side and looks to make some ripples in the pool of homogeniety that is anime these days. The incest theme seems to be really finding a new niche these days, after Ore no Imouto comes "I don't like you at all, big brother", which has a very, very strange artsyle. And the manga was weird as shit. If there's anything I'm definitely staying away from, it's all these new american adaptations. I guess after Heroman they really wanted to try out this shit... except I feel like Wolverine and Supernatural are going to be large stinking piles of garbage. What's worse is that these new types of american adaptations seem to be taking the slots of traditional action anime, whereas things like TTGL or... well I can't really remember the last really good action/adventure other than TTGL, which is what I'm saying. I feel like in offering more to the moe and magical audience, they're starting to shift away from the traditional badassery and such. I just really want some more gundam unicorn to come out.

That was my problem. Aside from Kimi ni Todoke, there's really nothing I want to even try out. I think I'll end up watching a few pilots to see if they're worth my time, but I can't help but feel most of these are just pure fanservice or trash.

To be honest, since nothing seems enticing, I'm going to watch a couple of episodes from Studios I trust, notably the ones by Gainax and XEBEC. Perhaps Infinite Stratos for kicks and giggles. All-in-all, I is a disappoint.

There doesn't seem like much that I'm truly excited about except for maybe Mitsudomoe. Those gerbil faces are so cute yet disturbing sometimes. Most likely, I'll somehow end up watching Precure just because I always magically end up watching an episode or two. Meh, time to go rewatch Casshern SINS...
But nothing is really catching my eye right now sadly...

I can respect the precure franchise - it's solid and generally not a bad watch. I just can't keep up with it. I'm just disappointed in the number of obviously fanservice and contrived shows - can't we just get a decent action-adventure? I've been feeling the need for a throwback, like a Scrapped Princess prototype where I can follow along an epic journey episode by episode. I blame the shittiness of the second season of DtB for this, basically.

Agreed with most of the comments here. Im gonna be finishing up princess jellyfish, I personally think it trumps ore no imouto as anime of the year. Besides that I think Ill be watchin the second season of Arakawa under the bridge. Also, does anyone think that beelzebub pic looks like a pissed off Luffy holding a baby Zoro.

tbqh, the only thing I'm sticking around for is mirai nikki(future diary). Will probably show in club since it's like my favorite manga. Nothing else really strikes me as a must watch. But I'll keep my eyes peeled and probably still end up downloading a few of these shows that I'll never watch.
Let me know if something strikes your fancy.

I remember, and then I remember telling you that I wasn't really hooked by it. I'll probably give it a shot in the summer or something.

OH SHIIII I loved Casshern SINS...Mike I told you to watch that a LONG time ago. I also found the op and ed awesomely epic. Too many tears were shed. TOO MANY TEARS. I love the fights to death since they were beautifully in my opinion even though frames were copy-pasted in some episode but I'm cool with that. It's pretty much one of the main reasons why I saw the recent Precure. It reminded me of Casshern. And it was cute?

Fractale looks the most interesting and Level E looks like it has the potential to be interesting. Everything else looks too fan-servicey.

Fractale seems like it is either a complete hit or a complete miss - which is why I'll give it a shot without too much expectation. Also what may be a huge hit or miss - Stewart pointed out "Is this a zombie?", and it might be a decent show now that I'm looking more into it.

Fei's analysis mostly based on art but partially on plot as well:
Fractale: It looks like it'll be hit or miss, although it'll likely be a hit for me, as long as it's not boring. Depends on whether or not the pacing is good, for these soft-animation types, I think. I'd give it a try, but before that I'd be sure to check out the trailer.
Kimi ni Todoke S2: Definitely watching this. Although the end got a little slow for me in the first season, compared to how quickly the beginning of the series went, all in all I love this show, despite its shoujo sparkles and bubbles and long meaningful stares.
Gosick: I'd been meaning to check this out when I first saw the goth-loli girl, but having been sorely disappointed by Psychic Detective Yakumo fall season, I'm a bit wary of anime's ability to portray detective series. However, this is Bones, and so far they've had a decent streak with me so I'll definitely at least check out the first episode.
Beezlebub: I second Mike. That looks like a pissed off Luffy holding baby-Zoro. That aside, I sorta really wanted to watch this. The basis looks hilarious, and the existence of babies in anime usually meant heartwarming moments for me.
Wandering Son: I saw this when I first caught a glimpse of the untranslated version of this poster and it didn't really stand out to me. But upon reading the plot, it sounds like something I'd like. Sure it's shoujo, and not even harem, but it looks like it'll be good.
Merry Dream Eater: I for one am not fond of JC Staff. But I didn't really notice this was by JC Staff until afterwards. The first thing I thought when I saw this was, "this looks like Disgaea." Not so much the plot, I haven't played before, but the art. It doesn't really mean anything in particular, but if two series have similar art styles and character designs, one is bound to get overshadowed. From what I've heard, Disgaea is great. Plus this plot looks ridiculous. Do the math, I'm not going to consider this unless someone tells me otherwise after they've watched the first few episodes.
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Lol Arakawa publicized this. I don't think I'll watch it, but it looks rather cute, so I guess I'd watch it if someone really recommended it. Then again, I usually don't go for the moe-art series anyways.
Wolverine: I didn't watch Ironman, so I don't think I'll start watching Wolverine either.
Level E: It looks original but then I realized that the guy in the picture looks like a male Nino (from Arakawa, again). Plus, alien? Hmmm... Venusians aren't aliens, are they? Still, I'd check out the first episode, and might continue as long as the art doesn't bleed my eyes out. By the way, just to say, my fujoshi senses are telling me this might be yaoi/shounen-ai, but myanimelist tells me it's shounen/sci-fi/comedy. Go figure, it might be good after all.
Dragon Crisis: Those eyes. They're so big and blue. Argh. The plot reminds me a bit of that anime where an unsuspecting average Japanese guy somehow meets this overpowered female partner-- oh wait.
Infinite Stratos: The plot reminds me a bit of that anime where some Japanese guy is put in the situation where he's the only guy among minions and minions of sexy ladies-- oh wait.
Is this a Zombie?: HotD disappointed me terribly (I totally called it, I knew it would be rage while everyone was still lovin' it). Plus this is another one of the only-guy-amongst-many-girls plots. This really depend on the pacing and character development and whatnot. Times like these call for friends who like moe fanservice to test the waters and report back.
Haiyoru! Nyarlko: Another guy-meets-overpowered-girl plot. Geez. I'll await the verdict of my underlings. Next.
Rio -Rainbow Gate!-: I saw the art and thought Angel Beats. The plot summary was pretty funny, especially "titular". If it turns out to be gag/comedy I think I'd watch it. I haven't watched an anime about ex-pachinko game stars, after all.
Houkago no Pleiades: The plot summary isn't helpful at all. But the art doesn't look awful, and Gainax is Gainax. I'd check out the first episode.
Mitsudomoe: I couldn't get through even half of the first episode of S1, so this is a no go.
I don't like you at all, Big Brother: OreImo ripoff. Or more like, crappy anime riding on the incest wave. Plus the art looks like shit, no offense. Not going near this even with a 10-foot pole.
Freezing: That pose looks strangely familiar, but I won't bother checking where I've seen it before. This looks just like that other one-guy-amongst girls anime. People never tire of this, apparently.
Starry Sky: Now I have low low low expectations for this, not only because it's an otome-game (Hakuouki was too, and the anime was too boring for me to continue), but this does happen to be designed by one of my favorite mangaka of all time (Psychic Detective Yakumo was as well but the anime looked as bad as its plot was boring, again). However the animation for this anime doesn't look too bad this time. Plus, the seiyuu cast is incredible, featuring Hoshi Souichirou (Kira in lolSEED, and Yukimura from MANLYGOKU BASARA), Fukuyama (Lelouch Kraft Lamperouge Lawrence) Jun, Kamiya Hiroshi (Zetsubou Sensei Orihara Izaya), Sugita Tomokazu (Arakawa's Hoshi, Gintama's Gintoki), Nakamura Yuuichi (Arakawa's Last Samurai, OreImo's Kyousuke), Ono Daisuke (you should know this by now), and Orikasa Fumiko (Bleach's Rukia). There are more but this post is long enough, I only chose the more well-known ones.
Suite Precure: The art looks like a 5th grader drew it. I'm pretty sure my brother can draw that. Not to say it's bad to be hopeless at drawing, but aired anime is technically supposed to look good. Or really make up for it in plot. They have to have gone through some sort of screening. Anyways, I haven't watched HeartCatch Precure to know if this is good or not.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: Yugioh with crappier animation. Next.
Usagigoya: Kiddie shows never get subbed, unfortunately. So even though this looks vaguely cute, it doesn't seem like my wanting to watch it or not will make it any more subbed.
As for the OVA's and DVD Specials: Mirai Nikki looks good, Yuri Seijin Naoko-san looks like it'll be hilarious (and it's ufotable), Goulart Knights looks like it'll be plotless or crappily plotted but I'll check it out for the seiyuus, Tailenders looks some sort of awesome if it really has T-rex on rollerblades, Koisento looks like it has potential.
That aside, PRINCESS JELLYFISH DVD SPECIAL YAY. Same for KnK, and maybe Letter Bee.
I actually don't have too much time on my hands, I'm just really really nervous and panicking and I should be studying. So take this as a token for a year's worth of silence in the forums.
