This idea was originally thought up by Hannah and Lena while we were having dinner at five guys during the first night of NYAF, slightly modified by yours truly.
The issue is no one could think of a proper name which is why there are two suggestions on the table:
New York University Club Anime (NYUCA) Japanese name: ニューヨーク大学アニメ部 (New York Daigaku Anime bu) Once it becomes popular fans will refer to it as ニュ大アニぶ (NyuDaiAniBu) - Reference: Ouran High School Host Club (OHSHC)
NYU Bukatsu Taisen/Club Wars ( NYUBT/NYUCW) Japanese Name: ニューヨーク大学部活対戦(New York Daigaku Bukatsu Taisen/NDBT) - Reference: Super Robot Taisen/Wars (SRT/SRW) (Super Robot Taisen is a game well known for using characters and robots from other shows which result in a complicated mess involving multiple villains and traitors backstabbing each other along with a massive cast of multiple characters filling multiple archetypes.)
Zi - Narrator - The genre savvy, jaded narrator that's doesn't really want to the role but is stuck as the narrator due to contract. She provides witty commentary throughout the show.
Jack - 2nd Narrator - Attempts to butt in and take the major narration role but is constantly upstaged by zi and the unintentionally by other characters of the show.
Jeff and Frank - Protagonists - Devoid of personality, they fit the role of the main characters of this story as they live through life completely oblivious to the advances of the girls around them. They alternate chapters in the visual novel and players of the visual novel have complained that the flags were very vague. Most have gotten through the game by referring to The Capturing God's website.
Aaron - The Character that wants to be the Protagonist - Fans of the anime have mistaken Aaron and Angeli to be cameos from the kendo club but the original fans of the visual novel continue to argue the passage from the visual novel where they mention they are actually part of the Anime club. He acts the comic relief of the Kendo Club. Always the first one to die in Elise's Bad Ends. As the character that wants to be the protagonist, he is genre savvy, and breaks the 4th wall in a desperate attempt to be the "hero." He even breaks out into self-reflecting monologues which are eventually ignored by the rest of the cast.
Hannah - Evil Empress/Mafia Boss - The main antagonist that works behind the scenes to control the world. Does everything in her power to control everything and ignores the 4th wall completely (a popular scene involves her physically reading through the script to plan her next move). Immune to Elise's Endings.
Mike L. - Shadow Emperor - A controller of events from the shadows as per CLAMP fashion. Appears only to say one or two ominous lines right before credits. In actuality, he actually has a very devious mind and a sophisticated plan for the protagonists but it never comes to fruition due to his lack of air time.
Mike Baek - Smart guy – Vice President of the Anime Club. He's well spoken, and friends with everyone. A well respected main character that has a very active role and a (potential) relationship (otherwise he would've been the protagonist).
Fei - Timid, Smart Girl - Following the usual not outspoken archetype, Fei will take a more active role near the end of the show, but does not have a pairing or route. Will have a small fan cult following as per standard moe formula. Due to popularity, there will be another visual novel that features a pairing exclusively with her and a protagonist.
Lena - Perverted Tsundere - Webmaster of the Anime club. When she's not fixing the website (to be read as "always), she's drawing her favorite yaoi pairings and occasionally draws pairings of characters within the show. Believes in OTP (one true pairing) but is open to hearing other opinions. It-It's not like she likes you or anything.....
Angeli – Meganekko - Fans of the anime have mistaken Aaron and Angeli to be cameos from the kendo club but the original fans of the visual novel continue to argue the passage from the visual novel where they mention they are actually part of the Anime club. Her super friendly meganekko rabu persona gives her a cult following that usually portrays her as a fluffy, huggable character (which other characters often refer to).
Zack – The Guy that always stops anything from happening – Stubborn, well spoken and a joker. He’s responsible for causing drama and preventing relationship development. Many confuse him to be the “villain” but in the grand scheme of things he doesn’t majorly affect the plotline.
Rafael – Boke – The “idiot” of a manzai team. He says non sensical, poorly timed phrases constantly. He’s also the generic pervert of the show that demands short skirts and attempts to find something perverted in every phrase. No... he's not actually really smart in disguise. If he worked for NASA, he would've been the guy that replaced kilometers with miles and crashed the mars lander.
Nick – Tsukomi – Attempts to bring some sense in this messed up world. Reacts to jokes in standard tsukomi style and sarcasm. His role is mainly that of an observer but actively participates in club activities.

Elise – Yangire / Yandere - Always angry, and always ready to kill someone, much like the killer rabbit in Monty Python. Her small stature and cute exterior often hide her true Yangire / Yandere self. Shows her (possible?) nice side to a few small handful group of people which includes Hannah (this side is never seen in the anime. There's only one cutscene with her and Hannah in the visual novel). Even her good endings result in at least one death.
Stewart - Main Supporting character from another production - A main supporting character from another production of the same company. Despite his passive role, his developed character resulted in such a strong fanbase that he was brought back to play a much more active role. Despite his reprise, he still doesn't have an official pairing and is still just a supporting character. As her senpai in kendo, he is resistant to Elise’s Endings.
Brett - Main Character of another production - Simply exists because he's the main character of the NYU Kendo Club production. Appears mainly as a comic relief, and is generally a background character whose sole purpose is to emphasize the other Kendo club members. No one besides the kendo club actually knows who he is, and an ongoing gag runs throughout the show concerning his lack of a defined presence.

You've done it. Kudos, my man. It seems like near anyone from kendo club is there for some form of comic relief or a cameo due to popularity. Title wise, I like Bukatsu Taisen. Like the clubs at the university facing off in one giant storyline of romance, suspense, and comedy. That and I don't see the series or the VN taking itself seriously.
I can kinda see crazy side shenanigans going on. Like perhaps one scene where Jack has had it and the camera cuts to the recording booth at the studio where Zi and him are locked in epic combat over who gets to be narrator while [most] of the staff is cowering in fear behind the audio equipment. Zi is fighting merely because she has to and because she needs to fulfill her contract. Slightly apathetic and fighting only out of defense but still a very powerful adversary. Jack is there shouting, "I NEED MOAR POWAH!1! lim x-> 0 ((sin x)/x)!" as he charges up shonen style. Yes, I think it'd be a good idea if Jack went Super Saiyan due to that.
I also see myself in side showdowns against Hannah. Ultimately, I'm not a hindrance to her plans and she doesn't take my opposition seriously at all, but because of her ignoring of the fourth wall, the script, etc. I see it as "my mission as the hero" to "protect the universe and the ratings". So I'd be charging in at her in full-clad equipment brandishing my weapons as Hannah confidently anticipates my moves. And of course, nobody else really cares or notices what's going on in the background.
"Our budget for the next three episodes just got cut! What are we going to do?! Okay, I'll arrange for a fanservice episode where 'that person' will... Wait, why is no one else concerned? Guys, where are you all going?"
