OneManga is going down (as in removing manga) next week. The convenience of OneManga disappearing is gonna kill me.

The story is something like this - the nihongo manga community began asking that scanlations be taken down, and so scanlation compilation sites are largely complying. I think Mangafox will be under the same pressure, but somebody on /a/ was talking about one more site still staying alive, we'll see. You'll all just have to learn to use baka-updates and bookmark your favorite groups instead of being reader whores... download CDisplay quick.

You said one more site might stay up. Do you remember what the site is?

oh okay, let me check for the thread on /a/
....
there's plenty of smaller sites that will probably fly under the radar, like mangareader. I don't know too many, I just follow scanlation releases from groups most of the time.

AFAIK, Mangafox has no intentions of shutting down (they are actually hiring QC's atm).
I don't follow the mangaverse, but as far as the MF forums are concerned, they're staying.
My problem with just going to the manga scanlation groups like anime fansubs is that manga is NOT anime. It does not take nearly as much work to scanlate manga as it does to fansub anime. The scanlation process could (and in some cases, are) done by a single person. In this case, they depend on hosting sites to share their work because they do not have their own sites.
For example, Liar Game is currently only being scanned by a guy called TDX. I'm fairly sure he's doing it on his own (he's fast, but kinda shitty). If hosting sites go down, i doubt he's going to go through extra work just to give people free stuff. Chances are, no one will scan LG unless a group decides to pick it up.
Well, those are my $0.02....

I scrolled down Mangafox's update list today and was like "I don't recognize anything other than Nononono on the whole page... that's sad".
Although I did recognize Sekirei too, but I just said the above statement for dramatic effect. Mangafox has definitely been totaled.
(but like Jeff said, lrn2ddl from scanlation groups)

Time to head to mangareader then. If they take THAT one down, then back to downloading manga chapters it will be.

Between the time this was announced and the time OM was shut down, I managed to read 503 chapters of Naruto. On OneManga.

Naruto is no longer convenient to read. I guess I'll stop reading Naruto.
I'll assume Sauske kills Naruto and Madara fuses with Hinata to get revenge but accidentally destroys the world. But then we found out no one really died (again) because Naruto is now Bleach. The end.
