Hello everyone, I'm Franklin, sophomore at Stern majoring at...... no idea, something business related. Anyway, favorite animes are Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Samurai Champloo, Evangelion, Berserk, and a couple of others. Don't really have any preferences, so I am open to any anime suggestions.
I'm also an RPG fan and will currently be playing Demon's Soul as soon as I get it. Still play games like Starcraft and Warcraft III so come find me if you want(star-ship). Also like playing shooters even though I'm horrible at aiming.
Looking forward to the next meeting and seeing everyone again.

Hi Franklin. It is good to have you in our club. Hmm, Demon's Soul you say... the club treasurer Zack is also eager to play that game. I'm not sure whether he has it or not but he did mention he is planning to play it later tonight. Hopefully, you two can show it during our meeting and even have other members join.
Nonetheless, thanks for being in the club. We definitely have alot planned out this year. I'll see you around (well, in the commuter lounge mostly like right now... your sitting to my right side while I read my engineering circuits book while helping out a friend in advanced calculus... ughh... the pain of being a senior).

Hi guys! I'm Sapphi (or Nora), nice to meet you all! I am a sophomore and an East Asian studies (Japanese)/Biochem major.. I love anime, J-music, L-As, and while I'm not so much into manga, I do love smut and creepy one-shots (woo Nana to Kaoru and Amigara Fault etc) I think it would be really awesome to make friends with people who are fans of anime and in general Japanese stuff!! So I am definitely looking forward to coming to future meetings. About me.. I like SOOO many anime, I don't think I can even l list all of the ones I like, so I'll just link you guys to a list.. I'm a season or two behind the latest stuff, and I suck at actually finishing anime once I start it lol. I'm definitely looking foward to DtB 2 but I'm TOTALLY going to marathon it when it's over because I can't handle suspense. :D I'm actually quite an internet dweller computer wise, so I've had the opportunity to GM for games (illegitimate RO servers :D), and I used to work in an online (karaoke) Japanese singing organization where I introduced a composition team and other languages.. I am actually going to start a separate project (once I learn how to program etc) so if anyone is interested let me know! Also in high school I was the secretary of anime club so I basically just made the schedule and admined the forums. We did do awesome stuff such as live-action chess and that would be awesome if we could do that too! The Hentai dub night thing sounds awesome also lol Oh and I saw that someone does cosplay and I think that's absolutely amazing. I have never had the chance to do that myself (or even go to a con) but that's definitely on my wish list for the future! Oh and the Martial arts person is awesome too... I want to start doing Wushu this semester..:D (Also math homework halp plz :D)

A japanese major! Jeffrey and I were both contemplating about that Hehe, Nana to Kaoru ^-^ I'll never look at bondage the same way again. Wewt RO! That game took up seven years of my life and I don't regret it. Welcome to the club!

Yes, what kevin said. And are you a japanese language major? If so maybe you can tell me about it's requirements. As kevin said, I was thinking about going that route.

^^What he said. :D Right now I'm taking World Cultures: Japanese and Chinese traditions (wiki is more helpful than lecture) in addition to Intermediate Japanese I. Next semester there's a Japanese media thing class which sounds awesome since we apparently learn more colloquial stuff and read manga and watch anime. :D I think it's either Nonaka or Matsushima-sensei who teaches it.. I'm actually considering maybe exchange senior or junior year, if credits allow it. If I follow through with a double major I have to make sure the classes I take can count towards my major. Also, I'm not sure if I have to pay money including NYU tuition for student exchange or only the other colleges tuition.....? But yeah one of the teachers said if you want to take Japanese in another college you have to talk to the head of languages person and present their syllabus and stuff, to get credit. Happy Birthday Kevin!!!

Read it already so the jokes on you. Just wanted a second opinion. Just in case anyone's interested. There's an anime class. Taught by Thomas Looser. Took it last year. Pretty fun. Oh, Nora, since you know something about karaoke, can you drop by the karaoke thread and give me your opinion?

Do you mean this www.nyu.edu/studyabroad/exchange/pages/nagoya.html exchange program? It says "During your stay at Nagoya, you will pay NYU tuition, remain matriculated at NYU and receive NYU credit for your classes, which allows you to maintain your complete financial aid package." I wanted to do this sometime during the next few years >_< Hehe, I'm taking WC Chinese and Japanese Traditions too xD There's my prereq if I ever plan on majoring in Japanese.

WHAT you're in my class? Maybe I should actually show up to lectures now that I have an anime friend to be bored with.... which recitation are you in?
So I have to pay NYU tuition ehh. Good to know! I'm a little skeptical about being able to obtain credit though. I'm going to double check on each class, since sometimes the department heads are disturbingly strict.
If you go on the EAS website it looks like there are other universities available too, from Waseda to Kyoto U.

And you see my friends. This is why the forum was created... to find people who are taking the same class as you and are anime fans as well. This has been a successful story!
