Ohs, even though I didn't get my ticket from the President, the staff gave me two tickets one of which I gave to my friend ^-^ Still, security was kind of bad since no one really checked the badges... Oh, glad you were able to go and all. Looks like it all worked out in the end. I didn't get to pick up anything at the con mostly because finding the Animplex booth was horrendously hard. I wanted that Shizuo(sp???) card really badly. The con was more NYCC than NYAF which kinda irked me but the cosplayers made it more even. Still that map did not help at all! Anyone see the SaberWar demonstration? It was gorgeous! Ohs, even though I didn't get my ticket from the President, the staff gave me two tickets one of which I gave to my friend ^-^ Still, security was kind of bad since no one really checked the badges... yeah, the Aniplex/Bandai booth was pretty much crowded all the time because of all of the stuff they were handing out which shizuo card were you looking for, the card that was part of the collectable set they had up as a prize for their scavenger hunt? if it was that then i can give you one @jeff - wouldn't have even gotten the autographs if i wasn't already getting one for Xom, so you can thank him for the insider information since it was a non-NYAF announced signing Wow, you were really out there collecting everything weren't you? Well thanks xom. Oh, and since some people asked me what the belt I was wearing was, here's a clip to show you. It's from Kamen Rider Decade.

I was basically trolling the left half of the showroom floor, sticking around mostly the Square Enix/Goldeneye/FUNimation/Bandai booths for Saturday and Sunday (mostly because of all of the autograph sessions in the afternoons)
It seemed like every hour Bandai was handing out something different, different posters and cards and what not, so i basically tried to collect everything I could that i might keep.

Mmm~ I was over on the anime side for most of the day, which was so far away >.< To those with pictures from NYCC/NYAF:Please upload all pictures to the Facebook group if you can. Thank you. Oh man, I forgot to take pics of our own club member's cosplays. Why do I have a camera if I don't use it!? I hope some of you guys got pics of our resident cosplayers. I did get pics of other people, but damn, and we had some great cosplays too. I took our own cosplays for granted. TT_TT

XD I was surrounded by people from my high school's anime club so they mobbed me. Just can't escape Brooklyn Tech students... I think I saw some people from the club but no one could find me since I'm like Canada. I keep on vanishing. But I do have a good number of pictures, on my phone in all it's cruddy quality since I misplaced my camera in my bag. @-@ Finding the Anime section was pretty hard since it was mostly Comic Con which kind of angered me a good bit. Did anyone get to play Golden Sun 3 at the Nintendo booth? I only watched people play it. And then the booth vanished on Saturday...

I saw a game that looked familiar, but I only walked by and didn't take a closer look. I was looking forward to that game. I have fond memories of the first 2.

I'm currently playing Golden Sun 2. Fun stuff. OH. GUESS WHAT. NYAF and NYCC are being shoved together next year. I'm currently raging over it since NYCC unfairly dominated NYAF. I hope it's fixed next year. That and I hope I get into the Apple Kissa Cafe. >-< But I'm doubting it since my friend is one of the judges. Still debating if I should try out...

I liked the fact that NYCC and NYAF were together. I've never been to the NYAF-only con before so I can't compare, but I was at both sides of the con this weekend and feel it would have been lacking if it was JUST one or the other... (also, I wouldn't have gotten Milo Ventimiglia's autograph if it was only NYAF =O)

I mean the concept of putting both together was really neat it really was, but it was more Comic Con than NYAF to a point that it was ridiculous. It pretty much was Comic Con with a speck of NYAF hiding somewhere based on all the signs since NYAF only had a bit of the lower level of the convention center which isn't cool. I missed out on so many good Vocaloid stuff because of that... I mean when you walked it you'd only see Comic Con signs that were huge and on a staircase for NYAF. I find that quite unfair and unbalanced. This really needs to be fixed next year. That and a better map would be nice....

basically comicon had 75% of the showroom floor, NYAF had the 2900 and 3000 aisles and the southwest corner where the bandai/aniplex and funimation booths were and the lower level for the panels and anime artists alley
comicon is just bigger in general though, i don't remember NYAF being that huge to begin with. without comicon we wouldn't have had all of the game companies like square enix (awesome demos btw), capcom (marvel vs capcom 3 was equally awesome) and Nintendo. the combination i think was a success, but i agree, i wouldn't mind seeing more NYAF booths on the showroom floor.

Raph, send people an email telling them to upload their pictures to the Facebook group page. I saw a ton of people with cameras and only a couple people have posted pics.
Anyway, more anime would have been nice, but obviously CC was going to overshadow AF.
The video game exhibitions were disappointing.

I think I was distracted by the T-Shirt table... yep, if they weren't doing an autograph session then they were handing out something, hence why the booth was constantly being mobbed, they seemed to have no shortage of posters and cards and what not, especially on sunday when they were literally trying to get rid of the hundreds of posters they had left from the autograph sessions. and yeah, i was tempted several times to buy more stuff from the huge tshirt table...but 30-40 bucks for some of those shirts was a bit overboard

Reed exhibitions is taking a survey on what you thought about NYAF. I think this is a good opportunity to let our anime voices be heard. I'm definitely gonna ask that NYAF get a bigger part in next year's con. I will not stand for being put in the corner or in the basement(unless zack is the one putting me there). So fill out that survey and show some dissatisfaction! www.clicktools.com/dashboard/survey/response.jspLet me know if the link doesn't work.
