Yay, finally bought the weekend pass even though I have a final that friday. Still going...and will be cosplaying with my friends...
If you see a black girl with glasses dressed as Xemnas...it's me. If you don't say hi, I'll send a minion to hit you with our homemade weapons.

We have roughly 30 members interested in buying group tickets. Will Hannah and Mike be handling the negotiations?

Yeah hannah and I will be talking with the NYAF people this afternoon to see if we can work out some kind of deal. We assumed the discount was better, and we'll see if we can't make it so.

Alrighty, sounds like everything is getting wrapped up and organized. ^^ Thumbs up from the girl who can't even organize her sock drawer. ^^''
Still don't know if/what I'm cosplaying, but it sounds like it's gonna be a blast so far. I'm finding out about new panels, boards, and artists every time I check the website.

I'm so excited! Err.. I'm cosplaying but not cosplaying but I am cosplaying. I'm wearing an old outfit I made but I plan on fixing it. I shall be a black mage! With a giant ribbon on her back...I'll probably wear a maid outfit on the second day hopefully. I need to visit the maid cafe though to bug my friend who's a butler. And bring about my vengeance for not being chosen. Okay not really but you never know >w>; I'll probably end up taking pictures of cosplayers and sitting around. I really don't know what to expect. That and my laziness is keeping me away from the site. Oh! Someone asked who to cosplay yesterday and I have a suggestion if he can find a white wig in time: duckhymn.deviantart.com/art/Mononoke-64376495I can help make this if that person was interested. I may also cosplay him in the future due to the lack of black characters in anime. *dies* So I'll most likely end up running around in circles and magically disappear during NYAF...

St. Marks should have party wigs. I'm not sure if one can be found in white, however. I'm still trying to figure out where I can hairspray a wig I'm getting without like nuking my room, since the windows don't open all the way. I might do it in the courtyard but then I'll make the whole area smell like hairspray dnw.
OTHER SUGGESTIONS: Killerbee from Naruto// (would require possibly a yellow colored hair spray.) Pros: Would be my castmate (!) Cons: Costume is a little revealing up top, he has like a gazillion swords. Raikage from Naruto// Pros: Could hide hair with a hat Cons: Shirt is like always open for some reason Barret from FF7// Pros: Barret is awesome, also instantly recognizable. Cons: His AC outfit doesn't apply. But that's not really a con because he wears chain mail that looks like fishnet, which is embarrassing. Kiros from FF8// Pros: I don't think Kiros gets a lot of cosplayers so mad props! Also, his hair is long but extensions could probably be made and clipped in since most of the long bit of his hair is wrapped at the top. Plenty of the E-board has played FF8 that I know of, so they could probably help. Cons: He's somewhat girly looking, and I can't find any good images of him on google. Makihara Bob from Tenjo Tenge// Pros: His costume looks easy; you'd have to get a wig but you can hide the hairline because he wears a bandana Cons: Would have to get a wig Akio from Utena// Pros: His costume looks easy Cons: He has wavy purple hair and a huge hairline. Also, he's kind of creepy... Lee Sampson from Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's...// Pros: His costume is so easy Cons: May not be recognizable without other Cowboy Bebop cast Kaname Tousen from Bleach//Pros: Easily recognizable, the costume can be bought just about anywhere... Cons: His hair. Just. All of his hair. Leroux from Bleach//Pros: His pretransformation costume looks easy to make Cons: The upper part of his costume is tight, he has like no hair, he's kind of a lame character
There are also characters whose ethnicity is hidden, like... most Anbu, Psycho Mantis, etc.
Alternatively, you can just cosplay whoever you want?? I've seen a pretty decent cosplay of an African-American girl cosplaying Death the Kid from Soul Eater. (IMO it was perfect except for the wig, and most people mess the wig up anyway.) As long as you're not cosplaying Inuyasha (because let's face it, that's just like painting a target on your back) I don't see why anyone would have reason to point out that you're not as pale as the character.

The windows at my dorm open all the way One of the few dorms that haven't been regulated because NYU's a lazy bum.

Awesome. Poly guys are getting on this too. Yeah, you guys still have time. As Judge said, come to the meeting this Thursday, September 23rd by 7pm in Kimmel Room 910. If you provided your emails to us during clubfest, then you will definitely get more info on the next meeting.
Sidenote: Speaking of Poly, is there an anime club over there as well? I'm an NYU/Stevens engineering major but I'm defnitely interested to know if there is a club anime at Poly.

is it too late for a couple of guys from poly to get in on this? You've been talking to Hannah? If you wanna give me your info at the next meeting, you could. Or if you'd like, email me, and I'll add you and whoever else you've got to our list of attendees.

I collected money for NYAF tickets today. If you weren't able to make it to club or didn't have the chance to give me your money, you can email me and we can work something out. Like meet up somewhere to do an exchange. *shifty eyes*
I just also sent out an email telling people where I can be found tomorrow(friday). You can give it to me there, or if you want a more personal time(if you're busy), just let me know through email. I won't get the ticket's till.....monday maybe. Don't wait till the last minute though. If you want a ticket, let me know early so I can make arrangements.
Also, Polytech students. I don't know if I saw any of you tonight. If you want in on the tickets, you'll have to come talk to me.
Ticket's are $40 for the weekend(friday, saturday, and sunday).
I'll just say what I'm planning to do with all your munny. What you guys gave me today has already been deposited in my bank *runs off with money bag* I really didn't want to walk around with that much cash in my pocket(though it felt real good in my hands). Anyway, I'll use my card to buy all the group tickets. Then by next meeting(9/30), I'll have printed all the tickets and I'll hand them out to the people that put their name down on the new sheet today. When you get your ticket, you cross your name off. That way, we make sure everyone gets their ticket.
38 people bought their tickets today.

For the people that haven't noticed yet, the schedule for NYAF is up.
http://nycc_nyaf10.mapyourshow.com/3_0/sessions/result.cfm?q=&Date=+&TrackID=+&commit=Search
Also, for anyone that hasn't received my email, the ticket price is $45 not the previously thought $40. So if you gave me money, I'll need an extra $5 when I give you your ticket. Sorry about that.
