Alright, I know that I'm going way ahead of time but because I love this club so much, its better to mention it now. As we all know, the New York Anime Festival is combining its showcase with the New York Comic Convention. The whole event (lets call it NYAF/CC for simplicity) will take place from Friday, October 8th through Sunday, October 10th. At the moment, you are able to get either individual tickets or group tickets (only for a minimum group of 10 peeps). So the question for everyone is (1) who is thinking of going, (2) for what days, and (3) who already has his/her tickets? As of right now, the weekend pass is just $50 while both the Friday- and Sunday- only passes are $30 each. As usual, the Saturday pass is $40. At the moment, I'm investigating the price for a group pass (we should be able to save up money, especially if at least 10 peeps are thinking of going). Here is the website for this year's NYAF/CC: www.newyorkcomiccon.com/en/NYAF/I hope many people are considering and even able to make it this year. Once again, feel free to post your thoughts here. I'll keep everyone posted on the group tickets. Lata!

I'm considering going. If you get 9 people and need a tenth, I'll definitely go. But otherwise, I'm not sure yet.
The biggest issue is the price. Not just of the tickets but all the crap I'm gonna want to buy.
Will see down the road. Put down for a maybe.
*EDIT* Also, Luis, could you add the pics you got from last year's NYAF to the Club FB.
Oh no... I think I just crossed the line to Facebook whore. =(

Definitely going, I don't care what else I'm supposed to be doing at that time. We should be able to find 10 people easily.

I am considering going to this; because I skimmed instead of actually read it... How much is the group thing AND do we have to all show up at the same time?

I would love to go! Since I'm going to college in NYC I might as well take advantage of the proximity to NYAF. I've always wanted to go to NYCC but it was too far away, so this will be a great opportunity! ^_^

NYAF has definitely become the best northeast convention, and since this year it's coupled with Comiccon, it's going to be huge. I'll be going every day, naturally, and we're gonna have a fucking great time, you know we will.

@angeli - I'm not sure how much the group thing cost at the moment but I should have an value by the end of the week. I'll go check with Forbidden Planet or actually continue doing my research online.
@ Chaobunny - Definitely. You should definitely come on by. Its one of the perks of either going to a college in NYC or just living in NYC. Trust us when I say that you will have loads of fun during the three-day event. At the moment, I'm trying to upload pics of last years NYAF onto facebook (*CORRECTION*: I finally did upload the pics on the NYU Club Anime Facebook group). When you got time and have a facebook account, go ahead and check out the club's facebook group (I'm the guy with the white and green jacket and who is usually taking a picture with a maid... yeahh, I like maids). I should have all the pics and videos up by tomorrow but the gist of the event is already uploaded.
@mike - Damn right we are gonna have a great time. If I gotta skip a few classes, swim across the Hudson River, and run to the Javit Center, hell, I'll be up for doing it just to be in NYAF/NYCC. Any other northeast convention have nothing on us.
@chad - Ah yeah, by early September, we should have at least 10 peeps wanting to go. Luckily, the group tickets only requires AT LEAST 10 peeps. The more people want to go, the better and more savings we each get. Again, more info on the group tickets will come.

Luis, count me in for the group. I can't wait for this. Another reason for the semester to start already. And I can probably get one more for the group as well. When do you have to order the tickets?

I can order the tickets anytime... just not on the day of. So lets see, so far it seems to be you, Leslie, Mike, Angeli, Chad, Sara, myself, and chaobunny. 7 so far (or 8 if Zack decides to go). We can definitely get the minimum number of people (10). Out of curiosity, is everyone interested in going all three days or does anyone have any preference? *Update*: Alright, so I figured out how the group ticket works. Instead of charging us each say $50 for the whole three-day event, we will only get charged $45. We each save $5. If you want to check it out but not buy the tickets, go to www.newyorkcomiccon.com/en/NYAF/Tickets/Group-Tickets/, use the CODE there, and follow the directions. Pretty much the price will be listen (create a fake name or address just to get to the prices page... thats what I did). I'm guessing that we will need to use a credit card to make this purchase (please tell me someone has a credit card). I suggest that when we all have the money and if we still want to continue with the group ticket plan, we should give the money to the person who has the credit card and we shall each get the ticket. Nonetheless, I'll check with Forbidden Planet to see if they offer group tickets (although I doubt it).

it seems like we will indeed have 10 people so I'm almost definitely going. We can announce NYAF during the first meetings of club and pass around a sign-up sheet again.
Also, I find it funny you list everyone's real name..."Angeli, Chad, Sara" and then "chaobunny".
Though she should put her name in her profile like most of us. And an avatar *hint*hint*

Zack, play nice.
I'm definitely going the whole weekend, no question. Due to circumstances and ignorance, I only went on Sunday last year, the dead day.
Jenny is also in. She is reluctant because she doesn't want to spend money, but I'm making her go because I know she wants to come.

Not my fault people don't read the gorram forum rules.
I worked so hard to make it pretty with the bold and the underline and the numbers and everything.

But yeah, this looks pretty sweet. Count me in as far as the group thing - if for whatever reason I can't make it, I'll still fork over the money so you guys can save whatever it is on the tickets.
