There are a few special anime screenings happening in the area in the next couple weeks. Some nice new anime that just came out last year. Find out what's being shown here. Summer wars is of particular interest to me. It won a bunch of awards and is basically the best anime movie that came out last year. The director(same person that directed "the girl who leapt through time" and previously the "digimon movies") will also be at the screening, so it's a nice opportunity to meet the next "Miyazaki". Sadly the tickets are at a costly $30. I plan to show summer wars later in the semester anyway, but it would've been a nice opportunity to watch it in a theater. The other movies aren't quite as costly. They cost $12 each. Also noteworthy among these, is "Time of Eve"(Eve no Jikan). A short film, I also plan to show this in club but again, might go see it at the screening. Some of these screening are happening right at the Cantor Film Center on 8th street just north of Weinstein. Certainly a nice opportunity to check out some new anime from japan.

Summer Wars is an amazing movie. Wait what, how much of Eve no Jikan are they showing? Isn't it like 8 episodes or something? This is awesome, too bad I'm poor. At least we will see it in club eventually.
