It's not really an event or anything. It's just something I was thinking of. For one night(I was thinking maybe in november) instead of showing our usual lineup, I show anime from the early 90's. It'll just be a one night thing. I'm not gonna show anything painfully obvious(NGE, sailor moon, dbz). Maybe something you haven't seen before. I was also thinking of showing a random episode of those older series instead of the first episode, since we wouldn't continue it anyway and I think the first episode won't necessarily capture the greatness of the classic.
some things I was thinking of showing slayers next irresponsible captain tylor Gokusen GTO Initial D and maybe something else that I haven't decided on yet.
If in general, everyone's already seen these shows, then I might just scrap the idea. So vote yay or nay.

I vote YES! Classic anime is classic for a reason!

well initial d is one of the greatest anime/manga series of all time in my book, so most def, the original Mobile Suit Gundam is also a classic worth seeing again (though thats the 80's)

But my dvd's are at home. I might get a chance to go home to get them before I actually do this "event".

Hey Prez, just to give you heads up, check in another forum that Vice-Prez Chad made called "Should Luis put up the list of NYAF anime..." or something along those lines. Pretty much, it list some of the anime that can be considered the best of all time. I think most people will agree with the names mentioned.
Otherwise, Initial D and Gundam are always an "a-o-k" in my book.

I'll get them next time I go home(whenever that is). Anyway, we still only have 3 hours so it's not like we'll be able to show everything.

Initial D is a definite. We should totally show a classic Pokemon episode too.

And this time, it has to be the GOOD one. No Americanized version. One that is ALL natural.

I'm not a fan of REALLY old anime. Like early 90's. The older animation style really puts me off.
But just like with video games, as long as it's good, I'm willing to put up with crappy graphics.

It all depends on the series. It can have the crappiest graphics and animation but if it has a plot that sticks to you, then I don't mind watching it. Besides, they are classics anime for a reason. It could be because of the animation/frames, story, or something entirely different. Let's wait and see what people say about what to watch for.

Ummm, we don't have meeting next week. We can try to do something else (this is where i could mention restaurant outing or reserve a kimmel room for a saturday... but who cares, I'm simply an undergraduate secretary and webmaster student talking here... hehe).
